Shitcom
A beautiful couple is enjoying a lovely dinner together when suddenly the woman's stomach begins to make loud, rumbling sounds. As she attempts to calm the beast in her belly, her partner proposes to her, leaving her both overjoyed and distressed at her situation. Wow. Just wow. I mean, one could take this video as a postmodern view of the relationship between man and woman. Or, you can just watch the video and declare it as nothing but pure and utter, wait for it, shit. Just shit. There is literally no other word to describe this video. You know, I honestly don't know why I wrote this review at all. I guess I'm just bored. I will give out a warning though. You probably shouldn't watch this while eating or if you're feeling sick. Actually, better yet, don't watch this at all. Trust me, I'm doing you a favor...

In recent years, there has been a surge in 1 episode short sketch anime that are just...BAD! The general consensus is that Shitcom along with Utsu Musume Sayuri are the worst of the bunch. What exactly inspired this new form of anime in Japan is anyone's guess. Perhaps it was the short and silly sketches of Robot Chicken, or the short and random cartoons of Terry Gilliam? If you combined both of those with the writing quality of the recent flop, Movie 43, you would be getting close to imagining how stupid Shitcom is. Shitcom is the story of 2 poorly animated claymation puppets like Mr. Billin the old Saturday Night Live sketches, who eat at a restaurant and shit out of their mouths...for 3 minutes. That's it! Japan is certainly a foreign and unique culture to Americans like me, but there are 2 types of weird stuff that Japan makes. The first is actually derived from traditional Japanese culture, and simply appears odd to Americans that don't understand that culture. An example of this variety of weirdness would be the annual Japanese Penis Festival. The 2nd variety of weirdness occurs when Japan tries hard to imitate the humor or "cool style" of a foreign culture (usually American) and ends up failing on an EPIC level. Shitcom fits into this 2nd category. I don't know why Japan wishes to copy the worst aspects of American comedy, but I REALLY wish they would stop!

Shitcom is like the Neon Genesis Evangelion of the deepest, darkest, dankest part of Hell's dump, the place where things like: Mars of Destruction Skelter Heaven Everything else Idea Factory ever made Panzer Dragoon That horrible Mario anime One Punch Man God Eater Violence Jack Shitgatsuand many, many more came from. Only Shitcom is made from the congealed drippings of those other anime, mashed into a malleable, turd looking form and then made into a stop motion video that MAL somehow considers anime. While I contend that "anime" refers to hand drawn or three dimensional computer generated productions, apparently poop(clay)-mation counts too. Now, I mentioned that Shitcom is the NGE of Hell's dump's shit. This is not an unsubstantiated claim. In fact, Shitcom may be one of the deepest, thickest turds ever uploaded to the collective toilet of the internet. Why? I make two cases: 1. It has actual metaphorical meaning. Shitcom: two clay turds go out on a date. The shit-man pulls out a ring to propose to the feces-woman, but then she explosively vomits her scat all over herself, him, and everything else. The man responds in kind by mouth-shitting himself, her, and everything else. It ends with a kiss. Is it all a crappy poop joke like the one I just told? Well, not in this shitty reviewer's mind! Shitcom is an allegory for the crap that we all have inside of us. Some people feel like shit, some people are full of shit, and some people talk shit. But this couple is able to look past all that shit that comes bubbling out of each other and love the shit out of each other- literally. It's about how humanity has this dark, smelly, brown, sticky nastiness inside, and when it comes out, it's all in how we deal with it- either a mutual respect and looking past the shitty situation we find ourselves in, or just losing our shit and getting it everywhere, and on everyone. 2. It's literally about two people shitting themselves, and getting it everywhere. Filth. So, like NGE, Shitcom has viewers split on whether it's a deep, satisfying metaphor in a 2 minute claymated span, or whether it's just a pretentious piece of crap. You be the judge, but I'm erring on the side of shit.

I don't write reviews to be silly, so I won't give this the obviously sarcastic praise it gets. This is terrible. It serves no purpose and is in terrible taste (no pun intended.) There is no comedy. Who would laugh at this? Even if someone has a terrible toilet humor taste in comedy, they shouldn't find this remotely funny. I will never recommend this to anyone, nor will I tell anyone about it because it doesn't even deserve one extra vote on Youtube. I'd recommend Atsushi Wada over this garbage.

There's a reason why I'm wrote this review.. and that's too let you know that Shitcom is not that really bad as what others said. I saw a lot of negative feedback and responses but honestly I liked it. The Story: Let's look deeper in this.. The story depicts that when someone is in love, you'll do and accept anything for him/her even the nastiest, dirtiest and grossest thing about your partner. That's what true love is. The Art: I've never seen an anime in a form of clay art before. It's quite refreshing and yet very disturbing because of what happened in the story. If you are akid, you'll feel gross but for me I don't mind. The Sound: A classical song was incorporated in the anime.. the song blends with the story perfectly. The Character: The male MC showed something very important to us.. and even though something bad happened he didn't back out. He showed to me what I needed to know about love and what is the most important thing about it is "acceptance". The Enjoyment: I can't blame people for not liking it after all it shows things that is not supposed to be viewed by younger audience. I can't call it a masterpiece for that but I cannot ignore the lesson I learned from this show. Overall 7/10 I guess we should learn from this show and look deeper on what it is trying to say.. it's not about the visuals that makes it bad but the important thing is to realize that there's something behind it.
