大正メビウスライン ちっちゃいさん
Hiiragi Kyoichiro, the eldest son of a wealthy family, has left behind his home in Momoki Village to attend the prestigious Imperial University in Tokyo. He carries with him his family's heirloom katana as well as a rather disturbing secret: he can see the spirits of the dead. Even so, he remains optomistic of the future that lies ahead, musing on how less scary the spirits would be if only they were less frightening in appearance. When he awakes, he realizes that he may have gotten his half-hearted wish..in part as he finds he's the one that has become significantly smaller and decidely cuter. As if that's not enough to throw his world into chaos, Kyoichiro soon finds himself swept up into a supernatural dispute between factions of the Imperial Japanese Army intent on creating an army of undead soldiers, a mysterious stranger with vague intentions, and a seemingly anti-government group known as the Five Katana. This is other anime based on Visual Novel, actually have the sames problems of others adaptations like Togainu no Chi, Dramatical Murder or Enzai...Ever because: the censore removes the BL. The plot is twisted and unsense for all people that not played the game, because is not enough chapters for the development or in the case of this Taishou ML adaptation: without enough airtime. The art decrease in quality, the reason: animation house don´t have the money.... All of the mentioned are the reasons for a bad anime like this, that nobody understand and without decent plot...The case of this anime is very sad, because actually I played a most of the ends from TML and is a good game...If someone have the suspicious about how the original Visual Novel is I recommend a lot play the game!

This anime can be described in 2 words: cringy and uninspired. I haven't played the game, but from what I know it included BL, which wasn't present in the anime, so the plot didn't make much sense. Of course, this is because of the short duration of the anime as well (3 minutes and half per episode). That's why, in my opinion, if you don't have the money to make it worth it, you're better off not animating it in the first place. Speaking about the plot, there was literally NOTHING new or refreshing about it, maybe except the chibis, little cute versions of thecharacters. But even those did nothing to help the plot or make any sense and were probably just fillers. We have the main character who can see dead souls and goes to the capital to study, and yet involves himself like a fool in the Army's bussiness. So, the plot gets a 3/10 from me. The art was mediocre at best, and the visual effects were bad. 4/10 The characters, another big fail. We have the weak protagonist that has a mysterious power so everyone wants him, and that has to be protected all the time by someone else. We have the mysterious powerful taoist (or something like that) who watches him all the time to protect him. We have the 'tyrant' big army figure that wants to use him for his power. We have another captain in the army that doesn't agree with the doings of the tyrant and wants to help the protagonist. We have the 'young master', that although powerful is kinda spoiled and insists on them calling him 'boss'. Overall, 1/10 The sound was surprisingly very good, the OP in special. The ED changed 3 times, and yet all of them were pretty good. Probably the show's only merit. 8/10 For enjoyment I gave it a 4/10. Didn't really enjoy it. Overall, what can I say? I don't recommend it. At all. And I think they could have done a better job, but obviously didn't have the money so that's what we got.

This was really... not great. The opening theme song is pretty amazing though. They cycle through ending themes, which from my perspective range from okay to pretty decent. Notice how I'm spending most of my time talking about the music? That should tell you something. So like you may have gathered elsewhere, this was based on a BL game and this anime has no BL themes, unless you count episode 13 which is not in this MAL listing but in the "sequel" which is all of one episode of like 4 minutes long. Try not to let your ass fall asleepsitting through it. I watched that one because I figured I sat through 12, let's see how it ends? And yeah, there were definitely better uses of those four minutes. It's not like I was hoping for explicit content, I just wanted coherence. Which shouldn't be a problem for an anime episode of this length, but here we are. The thing is, there's a core of potential here. Not for something amazing, mind you, but at least something halfway good. It's an interesting setting, you've got a protagonist that can see ghosts and a reason that's important, different factions who have interest in him for reasons beyond... you know... BL. But the tone is all over the place, with comedy and seriousness kinda whipsawing back and forth within and across episodes, not enough time to develop things within episodes, and only 12 episodes to start and finish the story. Also they're sometimes child-sized. It's not entirely clear why. Or at least I don't remember why. It doesn't seem to be that important. I don't think I regret watching this because the time investment was so small, but I'm not about to go tell anyone else to watch the entire series. But maybe watch one episode just for the opening theme. It's probably worth listening to at least once. Sakurai Anna did a great job on it.
