After successfully holding off the invasion by Aftokrator, the Border Defense Agency prepares an away mission into the Neighbor's dimension. However, like in previous scouting expeditions, only A-rank teams are certain to secure a spot. As the B-rank wars continue, Osamu Mikumo and the rest of Tamakoma-2 quickly fight to the top in an attempt to obtain a promotion before the operation begins. Meanwhile, a new Neighbor ship approaches Border Headquarters. Noticing that the attackers are targeting the Border Expedition Ship, forces are hastily sent to combat them. However, with fewer squads available due to the proceeding rank wars, the organization is sent into disarray. This latest offensive from the Neighbors shrouds the fate of the all-important expedition ship in uncertainty. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

There is NOTHING like this. While the studio butchered the animation on the first season, they did this season GOOD! I must admit that my score IS biased but my review is NOT. So please allow me to tell you why there is nothing like this show and if it's for you. Why there is nothing like this show? I also have no clue, BUT, what is this show in the first place? Not the synopsis, not the FAQs or setting, but what makes it unique. The answer is, TACTICS. I have never seen an anime that even comes close to how this title showcases tactics. Yousee, everything is laid out, which means there is no over the top power and there are no out of nowhere mc'guffin. Everything is out which means everyone is on a very level playing field so when it's a gigantic free for all, we see how people having access to the same equipment utilize them differently and creatively to one up their opponents. And the scenes and wins are genuinely amazing and earned because we fully understand what is happening! So far, this is the closest to a PvP anime that I've ever come across. Most teams are competent enough to give the MC team a run for their money and so are most enemies so you are always at the edge of your seat. If this was NOT my bias, I'd still score it 8.5/10. It's really good and there really is nothing like this at the moment to the detriment of anime in general. So if you like tactics, NOT just thinking MC but a thinking cast that reasons out offense, defense and counters, you will LOVE this show.

World trigger .... a new type generation of shounen anime , you wont easily find anime like this that has weak mc, strategies fight , or their weapon system , thats why i really like this anime with its unique style done by toei (props to toei) for bringing us such a good sequel from previous season 1 wanted to review as best as i can. story : 9 a new aliens appear out of nowhere to invade their world and theres few people who fight against them , later on they build a base specifically to defend their world against aliens or known as "Neighbour". the storyis revolve around Mikumo Osamu who encounter his first neighbour , and thats kuuga. when he met kuuga everything changed , after big scale fight kuuga joined Border to help their teammate save their brother and friends and here we are filled with good fight with a lot of strategies. the story is really great for me but its your typical shounen. but eitherway no problem i still like how the author write this manga and its story. Art : 10 the arts is really improving 100% for sure , back then on season 1 everyone complain about how bad the art is compared to today , even tho back then the anime itself had a chance to be one of the top 10 shounen. but as you can see rn the art is really improving and you should watch it , you wont regret ! Sound : 9 all i could say is good job for toei and all the voice actor for voicing such good anime. Character : 10 the character is very good with all their big iq brain xD , and yeah quite decent, adorable, funny , something like that. Enjoyment : 10 I really enjoy it even back then when s1 was considered quite bad but it doesnt matter for me as long as their fight is immensely good with all their team fight. you also will find it amazing trust me. Note before overall rating. If you dont like weak mc but with quite clever mind and strategies + they're improving with quite slow pace , then you should as well skip this anime because this anime is not for you. go watch your typical OP MC with minimum progression or growth character. Overall : 9 9/10 is my solid rating for this anime, such a good series. enjoy it to the fullest ! honestly all i could only say is thankyou TOEI. XD

What a beautiful return of an extremely initially flawed series. Here we see World Trigger season 2 come back with a much more compact enjoyable series of episodes giving a lot of payoff to many of the cliffhangers that were left in season 1. It's sad to see most people ignore this anime due to its flat first season but I would recommend you give it a chance, especially if you at all like the first season. Story and Character 9: Oh my god we finally get to see Mikumo start coming into his own as a character during the ranking tournaments and it is ajoy to see this very slowly built up character finally finding his calling. Plus the action packed first few episodes that added a lot of world building were a joy to watch as always. World Trigger truly excels with having very strategic battles using a very fleshed out power system to the likes of HxH. Art 9: OMG Toei actually fixed the animation for this wonderful anime, finally giving it the adaptation it always deserved. With beautiful particle and lighting affects coming off of all the trion weapons and explosions plus the overall movements of the action feeling very fluid make this battle packed season a joy to watch. Sound 9: The sound of WT was always pretty good (other than occasional bad yelling voice acting) which lucky isn't really hear anymore and overall just makes sure to add to the experience. Enjoyment and Overall 9: WT S2 is a wonderful adaptation of a long awaited arc in the world trigger series and it brings me so much joy that after the reading the fantastic manga I can finally highly recommend the anime as well as a great battle action manga that has extremely interesting and strategic fights+powers. If you are looking for a good sci-fi shounen then look no further cause this is the anime for you.

World Trigger is BACK and honestly better than ever. If you watched and enjoyed season one, you will probably get some form of enjoyment out of this one. (Edited now that I've completed it) TLDR: This season is near perfect and is better than the original in every technical aspect, well worth a watch. ART: I'm so grateful that World Trigger is being adapted into a proper 13 episode season instead of a 73 episode long running anime again, this allows for the plot to come at a steadier pace and the biggest improvement so far is quite noticeably the animation, it's a lottt smoother andthe action scenes move at a slick speed. Honestly props to Toei for amping it up this much, WT has genuinely never looked better, even the subtle improvements, like trion wounds changing from that obnoxious glowing triangle effect to something way closer to the manga, with slight dark trion-blood and the limbs of trion bodies being visibly torn off and punctured adds to the tense nature of the fights in the beginning arc of season 2. The first 4 episodes generally went by so fast and felt like they covered a lot of content in part due to this more quick-paced animation style, and imo World Trigger is best adapted in this style. Edit: The rest of the episodes were tight too! Focusing more on the Rank wars and our main cast that we've come to know and love, as well as introducing several new squads (most of whom I honestly wanted too win more than Tamakoma, sorry not sorry). The B-rank battles were done so well, animation, tactics and all. I'm still shocked that the same studio that did the last season put this out, they outdid themselves honestly. SOUND: In addition to the fluid animation, the OST has seen nice improvements since season 1. The opening song is good, reminded me of an early 2000s shonen op, sung by TXT, a popular kpop group. The battle themes and individual character themes all feel more grand, especially the battle theme, very fitting in with the tense moments and fights. STORY: One of WT's strongest aspects is its story to me, because it has so much potential to branch out. I'm glad so far season 2 seems to be keeping in-line with the expectations set by the story, I just hope that it will eventually do something to make it stand out as a great shonen anime. The season starts off with a bang and continues the hype well into a third of the way through, but we'll see how the rest of the 9 episodes play out, so for now, an 8. Edit: The rest of the 9 episodes were great! More focus on Mikumo and the gang, gaining new strength gradually through experience and battle tactics was wonderful to watch over the rest of the episodes. The B-rank war battles were a necessary story component to develop everyone's battle skills, and Hyuse getting his rightful beginning to a character arc was nice to see. Without getting into any spoilers, I love the way the story is very clearly being set up, there isn't any bs power up or illogical solution to a problem, and I hope whenever the ball really gets rolling in WT, the author has a lot of fun stuff planned. The confirmation of a season 3 right at the end of episode 12 had me excited because it did seem to end on a "middle of the cour" type episode, I definitely just wanted more. Regardless, I've said it before and I'll say it again, World Trigger is top tier shonen. Characters: This is WT's strongest aspect to me. There are so so so many characters and all of them have depth and room for growth, as all of season 1 and the start of season 2 have shown. The show usually chooses a select few characters to give development in an arc, or just to show off their combat prowess, and the first four episodes of season 2 so far have delivered on both of those fronts. The large ensemble of characters can get confusing, because really there are a LOT, but I've only come across a one or two characters that I generally didn't like, and even then they have minor roles. So far we haven't gotten the chance to see Mikumo or the main gang, so I can't comment on them, but in due time. The characters we have seen have been animated flawlessly, fully realized, voice acted, and well written, especially Hyuse and Yotaro. Easy 10 Edit: All of what I said remains true, the main gang had plenty of screen time in the fights and the new characters introduced were all great, with like one exception idk, Katori was just kind of annoying without many redeeming features to me. Felt like a watered down Kitora honestly, but she wasn't enough to take any of my enjoyment away with the series, I'm sure even she'll get her own arc in due time with the way the story is headed. 10 Enjoyment: I watched all 4 eps of season 2 that are out rn in one sitting and I swear it felt like I just started before it was over. 10 Edit: Watched the rest of the episodes as they came out weekly, cant wait for season 3!

Unlike the first 73 episodes that got a 6/10 from me, 2nd Season is AMAZING with almost no annoyance to me. If don't want to watch or dropped the first 73 episodes, I highly recommend watching this and just read summaries/highlights to get better context/knowledge. The content here technically isn't anything different to the previous, but it's clean and is completely focused on the best parts of the previous and has continuous progress. Diverse combat strategizing and execution is basically the entire 12 episodes and it's great! We get lots of new characters, new tactics, and so on. The higher-up don't disgust me as genocidal xenophobicextremists anymore and there is no degenerate media. Higher-ups actually seem to be more competent and logical. They changed the way trion body damage and trion body leakage appears significantly, I think there are mixed opinions on this but I personally overall prefer this new way for many reasons. I personally greatly enjoyed this, before watching my expectations were 8/10 because came out 5+ years after previous, but was fighting my spirit had to want to give 10/10 If you like to see different ways of executing combat strategies and/or enjoy seeing lots of different personalities/characters I highly recommend this to you. If you liked the previous, I highly recommend this to you. If you don't like seeing a sequel without seeing the prequel, I do NOT recommend this to you If you hated Mikumo-Squad and want some Dragon Ball, Bleach, Naruto, et cetera SUPER power-up, I do NOT recommend to you
