This show- nay this shouldn't even be called a mere "show" anymore for it has reach a point where the term "show" alone is not enough to clearly describe this piece of media. this was an experience. I felt like i have just witnessed the creation of the universe itself each episode alone could be adopted into movies no.. Even movies alone wouldn't capture a fraction of its true beauty you would need to create a whole Religion to even comprehend a small portion of its true beauty, the people that have worked on this expetience clearly understand what is perfection and how to createit each characters are written perfectly so perfect that i forgot that these people are fictional and not a living breathing organism. The story is a reflection on the struggles we as human-being face in our lifetime as the main plotline of this story perfectly captures the complex emotional struggle of a man who has passed on only to be reborn as a random apparatus doomed to be forver stuck wandering the earth as an inmate object just like how in the cycle of samsara one must experience a constant cycle of death and rebirth in order to achieve enlightenment one can only hope that in the end our protagonist can achieve Nirvana and be freed from the struggles of the wheels of fate. Running alongside this tragic plotline we also have a story about the melancholy of an unrequited love which involves two female being, throughout the series we are constantly shown how this unfortunate female tries her very upmost to win her friend's love and affection only to receive nothing back as her friend only looks at her as a mere confidant however despite the constant rejection she faced she keeps on smiling as if nothing was bothering her and she kept on steuggling everyday in hopes that one day.. One day she might received the love she oh so longed for. The beauty of this two plotlines really paints this media as not just your typical show but an experience, you are experiencing the pain and struggle of these characters, you feel what they feel, when they are happy you are happy when they are sad you are also sad if they are hurt you also feel their pain in essence once you've experience this experience YOU have become them YOU have become a microphone YOU have become a bike seat. Tldr: i really hope that someday i can be reborn as a chicken nugget so a cute asian girl can devour me.

Yes, I know what you're thinking: Is ASMR short-form anime going to be more prevalent from here on out? My answer to you: NO. Please do not expect much. Hot on the heels of the last ASMR anime produced that lead the pack i.e. 180-byou de Kimi no Mimi wo Shiawase ni Dekiru ka? a.k.a "Can I Make Your Ears Happy in 180 Seconds?" that aired last Fall, the same staff team is back to bring us yet another ASMR anime...that I don't know what they were thinking, but for such a standard as this, this was ANYTHING BUT ASMR. If anything, just like 180-byou, the Yuriaspect is the most obvious in the case, because somehow, they knew from the former show that having ASMR alone will not suffice, so they must think of something "spicy" than what is supposed to be the main crux of the entire show. As a result, you'll still get Tomokazu "Gintoki" Sugita as Ore-kun a.k.a Dummy Head and a fair few other things, but with the premise of the show hopelessly lost because the producers and scriptwriters just decided to go ham and put in the Yuri, because everyone loves Yuri...right? Easily skippable, just watch any ASMR YouTuber instead. Not worth your time, even as short and clocked under 180 seconds. Please, just no more ASMR anime.

I stumbled upon this anime by accident, attracted by a funny figure looking like Moyai statue on its poster. Later I saw that the main character of this show is voiced by Tomokazu Sugita, whom I like a lot. That was another positive point that eventually made me try out this series. The fact that it was not a typical isekai anime was also a positive thing to me, since I'm not really fond of isekai animes. Upon finishing it, I didn't know what to think, to be honest. It is a short series, so don't expect complex characters. Rather than that, I'd suggest treating thisanime as 12 short and lighthearted episodes presenting various funny situations with Ore-kun and other characters starring in this anime. If you want to see an anime heavily centered around ASMR, then I'm afraid you won't find it in most of its episodes. While it is an important element, I felt like ASMR (which I'm not a fan of myself, by the way) was substantial rather than dominative aspect of this show. Aru Asa Dummy Head Mic ni Natteita Ore-kun no Jinsei is more like a set of short gag episodes loosely based on the topic of ASMR or isekai (technically this anime belongs to isekai genre, that's why I mention it here). Even if I have mixed feelings about this show as a whole, I can't say I didn't smirk once or twice. However, I wouldn't watch it if it was longer series; but hey, it is short, so you might give it a try. Given how simplistic it is, I couldn't give it any higher score as well.

A lot of people were expecting an ASMR anime because of the title, and they're disappointed because it really isn't that, I can sympathise with that. But I've also seen the title written as "Caught Between a Yuri Relationship", and that's a lot more accurate! What you actually get is a decent short Yuri story with cute characters, and the producers fetish buffet mixed in at times, though this never gets too excessive and it doesn't really get in the way of the main plot. If nothing else, it's interesting seeing what wacky things Ore-kun turns into in each episode, they do make some... interesting choicesthere. It's nothing amazing, but the 5.01 it's currently sitting at here (at time of writing) is pretty unfairly low. If you have half an hour to spare then give it a shot, it's worth that much of your time.
