I usually look sideways at side projects like this. They tend to be less than mid, hastily slapped together pig shit. But here we have the exception to the rule. 6 mini eps that slather on more Lycoris goodness for us all. The artwork was typical, which is good. Surprising they put this much effort into it; characters, backgrounds and the animation. It was very much appreciated. There isn't much in the way of character development. It's pretty much CGDCT with guns. Big guns. But there's really not a whole lot of action. I didn't mind that much. Chisano and Takina, and the rest of theclan, pretty much doing their thing. It was some pleasant insight into their characters. The VA work was really good, Sounded like they had a lot of fun doing this. The direction was above average too. I'm imagining they had a little free rein here, to test out stuff that is going to be coming up in the new series. I certaInly didn't recoil from this. I embrace it with open arms. If I was grading it, it's A- material at 92/100, a fine score indeed. Might have rated it even higher if we'd only gotten a few more of these vignettes.

Objectively a masterpiece, when compared to other shorts and how I judge it. Many shorts are fun, but they are low budget. Lycoris Recoil: Friends are thieves of time is fun and high budget given its animation. It has the same excellent pacing it has in the original show, allowing a skit to play itself out while dropping great characterizations of the cast and some lore for those fans who are interested. The voice work is excellent as usual and the characters again feel like real cast of close friends. Its release on Youtube (for the Americas and Japan), makes it widely accessible, now ifonly EU can count as part of that Youtube release. Lycoris Recoil: Friends are thieves of time will not steal your time, it is a short, and will leave you wanting more. It is recommended to watch for low commitment fun, jokes land and are easy to get even without knowing the main series, it is easy on the eyes as the main cast is quite attractive yet not too ecchi for those who don't like it. Treat it like your the dessert of your animes.

I have a deep appreciation for Lycoris Recoil, a series that captivates not only through its dynamic animation and outstanding soundtrack but also through its charming and charismatic characters. With each episode, it becomes increasingly easy to get emotionally invested in the story and the bond between its protagonists. More than just a final episode, this special felt like a heartfelt tribute to the beloved Sayuri. Hearing her voice at the end of each episode and especially in the extended version during the finale stirred a profound reflection on the beauty and fragility of life. Sayuri may have left us too soon, but her songs remainas emotional imprints, with the ending theme of Lycoris Recoil standing out as a touching reminder of her legacy. Wherever she may be now, may Sayuri rest in peace. Her voice continues to resonate in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to hear her.

Friends are thieves of time is so funny. I’m not even sure if it’s an anime or what? but every episode is super fun. Only 3 minutes each, which makes it even more enjoyable hehehe. The characters are all so pretty and cool, the background art is nice, and the animation quality is solid. I also love how natural the dialogue feels between the characters. I think I would recommend this anime if you want an anime that has a light and not boring storyline. I heard there might be a season 2, if that’s true, i’m definitely waiting for it. Can't wait to seewhat happens next!

This doesn't make up for the lack of a season 2 of the anime, but it's better than nothing. This is a 6 episode ONA, or Original Net Animation, where each episode is 2-3 minutes long. That makes the whole thing 18-20 minutes roughly, which is shorter than a normal single episode. And it's everything you'd expect from the series. It brings back all of the characters that we know and love in mostly comedy situations, as there's obviously not enough time to have deeper, action oriented storylines. And the comedy is very good, it's exactly what I remember.There was not a single unenjoyable moment throughout. While I do still hope that we get an actual season 2 in the future, this was fine for the time being.
