With Vengeance, Sincerely, Your Broken Saintess
傷だらけ聖女より報復をこめて
Several centuries ago, a plague ravaged the Kingdom of Geed until a girl with healing powers appeared and saved the nation. Today, she is revered as the goddess Lushe, and a temple in her honor gathers individuals with similar powers to serve the kingdom as so-called saintesses. Lua Restoatt is a saintess candidate, but her power is defective—she heals by transferring others' injuries to herself, which earned her the nickname "Broken Saintess." This flawed ability nearly kills her when she rushes to save Garrett Vance, a knight captain she admires. But Lua's best friend, Arianne Trebias, takes the credit and becomes engaged to Garrett. Crushed by the betrayal, Lua vows never to heal again and prioritizes her secret second ability: inflicting others with the ailments she once absorbed. After witnessing this, Second Prince Sven Geed Crone approaches Lua and offers an alliance. Hungry for revenge, the once-timid Lua accepts Sven's proposal, ready to strike back at those who have wronged her and help the prince expose dark secrets of the temple. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

I never leave reviews for anime, and even more rarely do I leave reviews for works in progress (I usually wait until at least the main story is complete), but here I have to make an exception. Rather than watching this “Anime,” I recommend reading the manga. It has 138 chapters in webtoon style, so it's very light reading. The animation consists only of illustrations from the webtoon, where only a few details such as mouths, eyes, hands, and arms have been animated, but very little else...and all in a “paper puppet” style. For those who have seen “Danganronpa,” it's similar in style to the executions but evenless animated. Nothing can be said about the plot... it's good because it's the same as the original work, although it seems to me that some parts have been shortened, but I have to check. It's a mix of revenge, conspiracies, secrets, lies, and powers, but WITHOUT reincarnations. Applause for the voice actors... they alone deserve 10/10! The voice cast is really well chosen and they put a lot of effort into the dubbing, but that doesn't save the anime. I'll probably finish it just to see how they condensed the story... but for now, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The episode length is laughable: 14:30 minutes! But you have to subtract 1:30 for the opening + 1:30 for the ending! Basically, an episode lasts 11:30!! EDIT AFTER FINISHING THE ANIME: My opinion hasn't changed in the end. The rating remains 5 solely because of the voice actors' efforts.

This is the romance and fantasy anime you have to watch if you want to see a story that combines revenge and romance so well that you'll want a second season of this anime. The female protagonist acts in a realistic and coherent way as a person who was betrayed, which differentiates her from other female protagonists in this type of anime. The story is original compared to other romance anime, which gives the story a refreshing feel. The animation is different from what we're generally used to, but it's not bad. The pairing of the prince with Lua, our protagonist, is very beautiful to lookat, and the soundtrack is also very good. Believe me and give this anime a chance. I assure you that if you're a lover of romance anime, you'll love it.

Exceed my expectation! Thought it's gonna be regular revenge story but actually the story is pretty layered and with well made production too! Disclaimer this isn't your typical anime bcs it has less animation and more like a moving manga. It's a revenge story but actually the world building or lore is pretty layered and intriguing. As the story unfold many questions rises and sparks some interest. With how the anime ended, I'm hoping there'll be a sequel because the story definitely aren't finished yet. I also love the character design with the pretty dresses and details, really living that fantasy kingdom! It hasdecent scoring too! The score on mal are so low maybe because they expect a regular anime but turns out this one has less animation but even that i have no problem because they aren't too rigid either, actually it's making the anime more unique! Very enjoyable and entertaining, u should pick it up if you love revenge fantasy romance story!

It was fine, but it felt more like something from those Japanese manga channels on YouTube. That kind of animation. Those aren't classified as anime, while this one is. This is weird. The animation is basically motion graphics, where a static image of a character moves on a static background. Most of it was probably done in After Effects. The art style tries to resemble something like an oil painting, which is yet another reason why it wouldn't have worked for the traditional pose-to-pose 2D animation pipeline. The voice acting is fine, the soundtrack is also fine. Anyway, watch this if you're into the "soy" villainess kind ofanime. The FL's main goal is revenge but not really... She does many bad things but only in her thoughts. She reminds me of any president from the EU – she's a "lip elephant".

Just to start off the animation is more similar to an animatic or a visual novel style adaptation, not a full blown, frame for frame, anime. If you are willing to look past that then you can probably enjoy it. So right off the bat, Recommended but with reservations. The 12 episodes run 15min each and honestly make for a nice brief watch. For the actual show, the story is cute, if you didn't read the blurb at the top then the country has what as known as "Saintess candidates" women, almost always from noble houses, that are able to heal injuries on others usuallyto their own exhaustion. The main character is one of these but her "broken" status is that she first has to transfer the injury to her own body before actually healing it away. An incident occurs where she saves the captain of the guards life which leaves her bedridden for several days and when she awakens someone else has the credit for saving him and she is chastised for things she didn't do. The other main character is the second prince of the kingdom and he offers her a chance to get back at the people who spurned her while he unravels a plot to upend the kingdom. It's not a bad story, there is some tension, some romance, and some mystery. If you can look past the animation style then it could be fun to watch along in place of or in supplement to reading the manga. It is very close to the still ongoing story so it is also easy to pick up and read where this leaves off which is around Chapter 24.
