Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans – Urdr Hunt Special Edition: Path of the Little Challenger
機動戦士ガンダム 鉄血のオルフェンズ ウルズハント -小さな挑戦者の軌跡-
Year P.D. 323. Gjallarhorn's political intervention into the Arbrau central parliament escalated into an armed conflict using mobile suits. The incident was brought to an end by Tekkadan, a group of boys who came from Mars. News of Tekkadan's exploits has also reached the ears of Wistario Afam, a youth born and raised at the Radonitsa Colony near Venus. Venus, which lost to Mars in the contest for development, is a remote frontier planet in which the four great economic blocs show little interest. It is now used only as a penal colony for criminals, whose inhabitants don't even have IDs. Then Wistario, who hopes to change the status quo of this homeland, encounters a girl who claims to be the guide to the Urdr-Hunt. (Source: Gundam Global Portal)

5/10 ~ just make this a full anime already. This is a condensed and cut up movie consisting of cut scenes from a mobile game that no one played that has 'End Of Serviced'. It takes place between Season one and two of Iron Blooded orphans and its really a mess of a story that you have to put together yourself with out the game to use as glue. There's a ton of new characters and some returning ones. Going into this I thought this was a sequel because the MC looks so much like Mikazuki's child and his Gundam Frame he pilots looks so muchlike Barbatos... nope two diffrent people (Wistario) and two diffrent Gundam frames (Marchosias) that technically existed at the same time and could have fought one another. Honestly if I wasn't so hungry for IBO and wanted MORE content I would have to objectively rate this like a 3.5/10, but it got a 1-2 point bump for filling a weird niche that just should be a either a full movie or OVA production if not just a entire show itself. This was available this month of January 2026 in select North American theaters as a duel feature with the 30th Aniv of Wing EW for only a few select days. I am extremely shocked they didn't give out either the Mikazuki Toyotarou art card or the Gundam Marchosias EX base cards for the new card game... would have had far more people at the theater if they did this one simple trick. if you saw the theatrical version this included some small clips of extra footage from the 10th Aniv of IBO that was just released (Kidou Senshi Gundam: Tekketsu no Orphans - Makuai no Kusabi), very similar to the mini ep they added to 08th MS team when that got a Blue Ray remaster a few years ago (Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team - A Battle with the Third Dimension), this honestly was the best part. Along side this was some extra Intro-outro Mini music videos of very nice IBO 10th Aniv art that is actually being featured in the Premium Bandai box set (TCG) for the Gundam card game later this year. Man Bandai really just hates Gundam, they refuse to give us good COMPLETE shows, games or products. Unless you LOVE IBO/Gundam as a whole this is a pass, and I imagine that the #1 reason anyone watched this in America is because they wanted to go so Endless waltz on the big screen. LOL

you can tell it's a bunch of mobile game cutscenes stitched together, but it's hard to call it a movie, if anything they really shouldn't have called it one it's mostly a bunch of "this happened, that happened" and the scene usually cuts right before you expect more since it probably was supposed to cut to gacha gameplay considering that the gacha isn't even accessible this is the only way you'd be able to view these scenes out of curiosity anyway they introduce a lot of characters that you're expected to care about in a matter of minutes, so it's a little hard to care for them butoverall everyone in the main crew is likeable by the end for what it's worth, it's not terrible when you get past the whiplash and just realize it's just a big recap, you can just enjoy the cute stuff and fighting since those are still well done, brings you back to the ibo style that hasn't been seen in a long time

If the real treasure is the friends we made along the way, how come we barely get to know them? If you're familiar with the campaign of Fate/Grand Order or Nikke: Goddess of Victory, this premise and story structure should sound very familiar. You have your base to build, a helpful advisor who gives you a tutorial, and spots on the map you have to tap to either dig for materials or fight other players. All the cutscenes or dialogue segments are built around getting you from one battle to the next, occasionally taking breaks to interact with your crew. So how do they make thatwork as a movie? The short answer: They don't. While Xhosa's narration at least makes for a coherent recap, it's of an anime season that never existed. Characters come and go minutes after they're introduced, plot points are told rather than shown, and battles amount to nothing more than their opening and finishing moves. Even with what seem like additional clips, the result is a video game story with all the gameplay removed. The movie plays as a glorified recap episode for a tv show we should've gotten instead, and its quite unfortunate that the majority of the story as well as character progression and building is removed due the majority of the animation is from a now defunct game. Because of this its really hard to care whats going on and happening to the characters or thier motivations for taking part in the Urdr hunt, leaving you with just the few moments characters and plot points from IBO show up The story itself and characters are quite intresting and would have made for a fun series leading youon a treasure hunt through the IBO universe. the animation was well done and their were some exciting action scenes, especially when the first mobile armor shows up. i wish we got more of what would be the series main antagonists, which thankfully isn't another char clone. some of the character reveals are interesting and i would have liked if they done more with it and would have made for a good several episode arc. the mobile suit designs are unique enough and stand out, with the main Gundam being well designed, though the movie skips how and why its upgraded along the way. overall its hard to recommend this movie unless you need more IBO content or want something gundam to put on. with its main sin being it should've been a fully fleshed out OVA or tv series instead of a condensed movie, leaving the end product to have extremely rushed pacing, with little to none character building, some decent fight scenes, and a taste of what would have been a decent Gundam show
