One Piece Recap

It’s hard to rate a recap when it doesn’t contain extra content. This is an attempt to cram hundreds of episodes of content into half an hour. As you might expect, this results with a very, very bare bone info. So don’t even think this can be used to replace watching those episodes, that’s not recommendable at all. So, only watch this if you’re already familiar with the story covered. As mentioned, there isn’t extra content in recap, so if you remember what happened in the plot, there isn’t any reason for you to watch this other than completionism. The scenes aren’t redrawn, on the contrary, thisbeing a DVD only release, some of them are actually worse video quality than the tv episodes. So you won’t be watching this if you want newer animation for older One Piece content, like with some of the “Episode of” specials. Therefore, the only remaining reason to watch this is if it’s been a while since you’ve seen or read One Piece and this looks like better alternative to refresh your memory than reading through wiki, as this recap is sure to not spoil you beyond the section it’s recapping. Overall, this is mostly useless special. It’s not awful per se, just pointless in most cases.
