The Prince of Tennis II vs Genius10
After a month abroad, the Foreign Expedition Team has returned to the Japan U-17 training camp. The group consists of 20 players, each with strength and technique that far surpasses those who occupy the camp's top court. In anticipation of the team's arrival, the coaches announce that 20 of the best players would be selected for further training. Tension begins to rise when only high school students are chosen to participate, but the middle school students challenge the players who possess the 11th to 20th positions to steal their places. With the delayed appearance of the "Genius 10," the middle school students begin scheming among themselves to claim those spots as well. Unlikely pairings start to work together, combining their efforts to defeat the top 10 players of the country. It is a battle of wits, deception, and skill—all for the privilege of representing Japan at the U-17 World Cup. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Warning: This is not tennis. If you've watched the original Prince of Tennis, you'll definitely see how crappy the New PoT is. Prince of Tennis is one of the best franchise in Japan. The reason why this series got a lot of adoptions is because of how high their sells are. Even I cannot believe how many the tenipuri fans are. As long as the anime sells, they'll make a new adoption. Not concerned if it 's good or not. And in our case, it is not. In this series, tennis isn't even tennis anymore. They introduced a lot of violent techniques. A glowing shot thatdamages the court and can tear a water tank down. There was even a fight where you can see a pirate like wtf isn't this supposed to be tennis? Most of the matches aren't even thrilling. I hate how the producers skipped and altered a lot of scenes/chapters from the manga. The supposed to be fun part aren't in the anime. What the hell are the producers thinking?! And the most disappointing part is that how come the Pinnacle of Perfection is being achieved by many. Isn't Teni Muhō supposed to be the top of the top? In the ORIGINAL PoT, Ryoma did achieve the Teni Muhō and his skills were unbelievable. The ball cannot be seen and the opponent can't even score a single point. But in the New Prince of Tennis, this is not the case. Teni Muhō is now just an achievement you'll attain when you enjoy tennis. I'll give them the credit if they made the matches more interesting but no. The matches is the New PoT are boring. It doesn't matter if you enter Teni Muhō or not. What matter in this series is how you'll survive in the match. What an unbelievable tennis. Since this is an OVA, and judging how disappointing its prequel is, I did not expect anything from it. But let me just say that this series... is definitely better than its prequel. However, the story is very misleading. There are many scenes in the manga that the anime didn't adopt. Which lead to bad pacing, ridiculous opinions, and bad character development. Tenipuri has a lot of characters and 10 episodes can't possibly give significance to even at least ten characters. The art is expected. Production I.G did a good job. They raised a lot of beautiful bishounens (especially Fuji damn he looked so hot). I thank you for that. I love the sound as well. The opening was okay but I find the ending song cute and adorable. I even pre ordered the "Party Time" album cause the characters are so cute! Nevertheless, I really enjoyed watching this anime. I'm a solid PoT fan, you see. And I love watching them go cray with their matching oozing sex appeals. Fan service isn't bad once in a while, he. Tenipuri fans will definitely enjoy this OVA but as for the others... I don't know. It will depend on your taste if you'll give it a try or not. In the end, I still enjoyed watching how the characters fight for their death. This anime still has a lot of interesting stuff and I love the manga. I just hope the sequel will be more interesting than the first season.

Story: 4 This time we return to the U-17 training camp where the last season of "Shin PoT" was left, for now if we adapt the final part referring to "Genius 10". The reality is that something similar to the previous season happened to me that seemed to start its first chapters on the right foot, but little by little it was distorted with an abrupt rhythm of the story that led to all the characters of "Genius 10" see as a blank page within the show, with a very summarized development and being that they play a preponderant role as representatives of Japan. But Idon't want to go around the bush, going back to history in general we once again have our dose of "daily tennis matches"? If you can say that! The truth is that the average of games is high for this season (compared to its prequel) with good games but most of these do not receive more than 20 minutes in length. But the funniest and most anecdotal is the example compared to the 1st season. The games there lasted 2 to 3 chapters on average and I only played one set, now they literally play 3 sets in 20 minutes. They have their meme there. Now, Mas there are of these problems of the program (which are not minor) the show manages to give rise to a decent ending so to speak, and with good aspirations to give a possible continuation, so it is to rescue. Art: 8.5 / Sound 7 The visual section continues to be the source of life for "New PoT", thanks to the work that Produccion I.G contributes, leaving great moments and designs, just as I had already mentioned in the previous season. While on the Sound side it has improved thanks to the fact that they gave it an OP much more in line with the type of show and the ED does not feel so bad, although it could be better and to end the OST it fulfills its mission without having too much new repertoire. has shown above Characters: 3 Again one of the sections that receives the greatest damage to the program along with the story for obtaining a decreased number of chapters are the characters, which although we have a large number from last season with all the known opponents of Seigaku and those already known from the field training, now the appearance of the main Japan high school team "Genius 10" is added, plus the introduction of an unknown character who gains strength towards the end of the show. But unfortunately it all comes down to this NUMBERS !, since in reality the content we receive from each one is lousy, with introductions of these very brief and that do not stand out too much. The reality is that it hurts to see how one of the bases that supported the program as the main characters of Seigaku from its first season, they were disappearing but literally. Nothing is the same, neither the comedy, nor the parties or the attractiveness they propose. Entertainment: 4 This season has shown not many more than the previous one, but with some ambitions more than its prequel and already showing a line at the end pointing to the U-17 World Cup, it is satisfactory at the end of the day, but everything else would be a summary of all the points and the problems that the show suffers, especially in the characters that the inflection point by which the viewer is attracted and was always the engine of the Anime, but since all the secondary schools joined and began to defragment the developments of each one and became unrecognizable to the point that you never find out where you have to really pay attention since it transmits it seems irrelevant. Overall: 5.3 We reached the end of the trip and it left me with a more bitter taste than I expected, but despite this he wants to hope that the film that will come out in 2021 is the point to reactivate the program, being that this last adaptation was in 2015 and it can be reissued, but beware, with different nuances and with a studio that is responsible for giving it the time and the chapters it needs to once again demonstrate what Prince of Tennis used to be at its best.

If you've made it this far, its safe to assume you are a prince of tennis fan. That being said. It's hard to compare genius 10 ova to 2012. It's completely different, and yet somehow still kinda meh. (Disclaimer: This review is written many years after I watched so might be a bit off) Long story short the tennis matches, at least in my own opinion, are just kinda mediocre. And thats about it really. There are brief brilliant moments, otherwise most of the matches are mediocre or just forgettable Review score(?) 8.5(?) or 8.0. If you only look at the good matches its maybe 8.5 or 9, the othermatches are somewhere between 7 or 6
