This short little piece was made in 1964 and it really reminds you of the old Disney art style. So this brings a little nostalgia back. Even the singing part is something, which kind of reminds me of those old Disney shorts. I don't even know why. I guess it's just the whole atmosphere. Oh well, onto the story. Cook no Polka tells a small story about a cook, who has a lot to do and is getting stressed out by it. At least that is, what my first impression was. It turns out to be wrong, and the cook just does such good food, thathe has a lot to do cause of that. He isn't really stressed out from it at all. So, all in all, this piece just shows the daily life of a cook and his own restaurant, what work he has to do and what kind of food he makes. All of this underlined with a happy, childfriendly song really makes it logical, that this piece ran on the NHK TV channel. I'm guessing it was used as a short video/ad for childs, to show, what the occupation "cook" really is all about. I watched it. That's it. Nothing, what you would need to watch, nothing spectacular. It's hard to rate those old short animations anyway, cause compared to today they are just simple, plain and bad.
