While I don't have any grudge against the series as whole, I have to agree with everyone one this recap episode. It offers no additional information, or facts and doesn't sum up the first 14 episodes well at all. If you're new to the series, I HIGHLY recommend you watch all episodes 1-14 than view this recap episode; if you have been following from the beginning, then skip it. It is not a good reflection of the series at all! The only honorable mention this recap episode gets is that in my opinion, the remade opening actually was visually quite good.

Since the episodes we are being reminded of have just aired, this recap is totally pointless. If, by some chance you are coming to this series for the first time, please, just watch episodes 1-14. You will not be able to make sense of them from this episode. If, like 99% of viewers, you have been watching from the beginning, you will gain absolutely no extra information, alternate view of the story, or even just new artwork. Even though this recap is told nominally from Sinon's point of view, it is provides no new material concerning the plot or the characters.A total waste of time!

SAO since its debut has been famous for attracting fans, but a massive crowd of haters to bash and derail any quality it may or may not have. I would consider myself almost completely neutral, but today I was witness to the worst done recap episode of any medium I've seen: Sword Art Online II: Debriefing. In a span of 24 minutes, this episode really didn't do this season any justice and any newcomers to this season would be completely confused on what is going on. You know: - Why does Kirito's avatar look like a female? - Why is Kirito here in the first place? - How are theretwo Death Guns and what is the story behind it? - Who was the women and girl at the end of the episode talking to Sinon? Simply point: If you haven't seen the season then you will just need to guess and assume which is why this recap fails. A recap should tell the story decently well to new viewers and help clear up past confusions. This recap does not do that. Just watch the first 14 episodes, trust me on this. Those questions will be answered.

This will not be a long review/ opinion This is my first review. Just getting that out of the way, I'll say what I want to say about this summary. A lot of people have called this bad cause it doesn't explain much about the first 14 episodes of the anime. People would only really need to say that if they haven't watched it already. But I see this a bit different then other people I don't think this summary anime was targeted towards people that haven't seen this already because there no way they could sum up the first 14 episodes in 22 min.I think this is targeted towards people that already seen it, this is more of a refresher of the first arc in this season of SAO. Thanks for reading and if this is helpful please let me know by clicking helpful. Oh and I respect your opinion 100%. P.S. It would be so helpful if you could write a comment on my profile saying what I could explain better for future reference.

The bigger problem lies in the “recap” concept. I think the biggest factor for its success is the timing. If I was watching the series weekly, well, by episode 14, that would be 14 weeks or three months and a half of slow-burn watching, I would probably need a recap episode to go through everything that happened on a said arc, or in other cases, if somebody was to take a break in between the arcs, a good recap episode would be amazing to refresh the viewer's mind and set them up to watch more. Well, I come from neither positions, unfortunately. When binge-watching episodes backto back, recaps seem to be a turn-off, so you'd really want to skip on them and win time. That is unless the recap has some fun twist around it, but in SAO II Debriefing, it was not. The recap episode is a barebones retelling of the entire Phantom Bullet arc from Sinon's perspective, with some minimal narration at the beginning, ending up at when she finally overcame her hardships.
