Based on a children's picture book of the same name. A Christmas tale about a bird who was raised by tree after it was abandoned. The tree was then cut down for people in the city to use for Christmas celebrations. The bird desperately is trying to find its adoptive tree mother with the help of Jeremy, a penniless orphan, who heard her story so they go and search every tree being used in town. The search in the cold takes a toll on Jeremy until Santa Claus appears, but is it really him?

It's been more than a week since watching this. It's still insane to me. Putting up a 'spoiler-free' review, but if you were expecting a cutesy little christmas short, just know you're looking in the wrong place... It's a unique festive tale! Things aren't as they seem, and it's unlike anything I've watched before. There's some common tropes and it's very recognisably a childrens tale. Still, with a surprisingly dark turn that comes with little in the way of hints or foreshadowing. Still, it's presented in a way that is still very child-friendly? I really don't know how to describe it, so I feel like ifyou're curious it's best to just watch it and... you'll certainly see!
