It is important to evaluate these things from their own vantage point. Of course Vienna Mix has no plot, it has no development - for many that is enough to discard it, but that just means the medium isn't for them. Evaluated as its own thing trying to achieve its own goals, instead...I do not think it is very good. Everything is just too loose - there isn't a connection between the art itself and the scenery of Vienna being shown, the different drawings themselves do not connect to each other, and a theme refuses to present itself. The actual drawings are just "fine" -and sometimes they somewhat randomly just repeat on a loop for a bit. Many avant, artistic works are great - this one is just a empty imitation of them. It does have a romantic charm to it, at least - you could see it serving as background noise in a coffee shop, which is a valuable role to be clear. But I don't think that was the intent.
