These eight short episodes filled the hole that was left as I finished watching the Ansatsu Kyoushitsu series. Although it says 8, the main "plots" for these episodes are only two, so don't get your hopes up too much. But it still fulfills its duty for a normal day-to-day happening during the time of the assassination classroom. It's kind of like an alternate universe for some of the very violent animes/games, but these are actual canon and not just imaginary events. I am very, very glad I decided to go out of my way to find these episodes. Short but perfect.

Like the chocolate Maehara received on Valentine's day, Ansatsu Kyoushitsu 2nd Season: Kagaijugyou-hen is shaved onto us like a flash, but the exact kind of flash you'd welcome with open hands. In many cases, especially for “completionists” like myself, whenever there is a piece of related animation to some show you watched, you just have to pull up an effort and dedicate some time to watch it, no matter how bad it might be, so most of the time it starts off with heavy sighs and brush down attitude, but not with this one. For an ONA, it has to be one of if not thebest I've seen. The animation is crisp, out of an official release. The voice acting is on point, and the direction looks like some limited accessed full-blown budget that you'd think they would have included in the parent show, for 8 episodes 5 minutes long each, that would make a splendid 2 episodes that I'm sure nobody would have complained about. Of course, nobody in class E was ever neglected in the general context of the story, and you can even see that cleared with this ONA, as it goes on focus over some debatably minor characters, and not suck on the money bag trio that is Nagisa, Karma, and Kaede. Relatively short and very fun and conclusive, it follows the same formula of its parent show where every episode is a mix between and sequential and episodic layout, it doesn't feel strange on the fans for that matter.

Assassination Classroom: Extracurricular Lesson is an ONA with 8 episodes of 5 minutes that combined form 2 normal episodes of 20 minutes. The first normal episode (1-4) takes place between episode 1 and 2 of the second season of the main anime and the second normal episode (5-8) takes place in the middle of the 20th episode of the second season of the main anime. They're basically two extra episodes of comparable quality to the main anime. The story for the first episode was surprisingly good and actually had an interesting and unexpected twist. The second episode doesn't have much of a story but isjust some extra content. The characters are the same as in the main anime however the focus in these two extra episodes is on some characters that had gotten a bit less attention so it has some nice character development. The animation, sound and voice acting are all the same or on the same level as the main anime so it's of very similar quality. Overall this ONA is nice to watch for just a bit of extra content. The quality is the same as the main anime and the character development adds to the main story. It's best to watch them in the correct context but watching them afterwards is fine too.
