I can't help but think that this series is average all around, be it the slapstick comedy that doesn't pique any senses or the drama that encircles the entire series as a whole, because it will turn some heads here and there. The story goes of some prophecy to protect the world, a bloodline of Butlers who has kept peace on Earth until the typical rivalries clash out between factions of changing the past to a new world vs. keeping the status quo. And for that, a sacrifice is needed to uphold the ritual that's held in memorial of an unused mansion right at the heartof it. Enter Jinguuji (J-san) and Hayakawa, the main MVPs for the series who came into this world from the past (100 years ago) to find out the mysterious disappearance of J's not-legit sister Tenna Kisaragi (whom has been already sacrificed to save the world), and live out their high school lives of slapstick comedy. Along the way, whilst their rivalries (of J questioning why she is sacrificed vs. Hayakawa knowing the main reason from her), more people come into contact with the both of them, further solidifying the Butlers bloodline of typical powers that are used to save the future (albeit they have absolutely NO connection with the entire situation) and witness the entire consequences. The first problem: Why have so many characters that exist just to be plot devices (descendants of the bloodline) that move the plot right along and when it came to the end, they are of no relation at all (mostly just friends)? And honestly, the slapstick comedy is another area just for show, the entire plot only starts moving within the 2nd-half (SPOILERS). All of this makes the story seem less redeeming and more bland, but it gets interesting when the exposition arrives, so don't keep your expectations high. Speaking of characters, it's an all-boys situation, but don't get your hopes up if you're looking for BL. As aforementioned, all of the seinen, voiced by an all-stars VA cast, have different powers that are inherited from the bloodline of generations past that helps the main and side characters know what they are getting into and solving the crux of the situation. That's not to say that all of them are unique though, it won't appeal the first time, but subsequently they will be easy to get used to, in light of their personalities. The art and animation...well it's Silver Link, what to expect from this studio? And even more so with this being an original source, and the studio has never been a strong suit with that. I'll give or take what it has to offer, but while the art styles are decent at best, where it really takes a hit is with the animation, especially the fighting scenes that escalate towards the end, really can't help but think that for all that is worth, the staff chose to sacrifice quality animation for endless repeating of scenes that are honestly just plain boring and unappealing. The music is sadly the high point of the series. While both OP and ED are (again) decent at best, I'm actually quite surprised that the series manages to flesh out its comedic and supernatural moments quite nicely with good implementation and notice of the various situations beforehand, and it blends well into whatever atmosphere it manages to conceive. In the end however, this is just an average and mediocre show that can be passed for others better out there. I'd say if you care enough about the characters but wait for the slow, sluggish story to catch up then give this a try, but if not, just keep your sights elsewhere.

-The story was developed nicely and step by step. At first the whole idea about butlers really picked my interest, since it's quite alluring for girls as you all know. I liked the cafe background, and there was a good ratio of mystery/slice of life. -But after the first half of the series, the fantasy/supernatural part grew ubruptly and was upleasant. The balance was lost and all the huges and serious events had to get stuck all together in the end. That's the problem with the -low budget- anime. They can be amazing, but only if there is time to develop and present the story with theright speed. -The characters were interesting even if there were many cliches but I was expecting that, and it wasn't unpleasant. Being mainstream in just one thing isn't bad. -Last but not least, the I was annoyed because the story is about a girl that we never found out why was so important. Yes we watched the backround story about her, but it wasn't deep enough to make us feel sentimental. -There are better anime like this to watch, but if you want sth chill and not too serious and you like hot guys, well give it a shot

Butlers: Chitose Momtose Monogatari summary: "Tenna-sama" - 39.5% "AHHHHHHHHHHH I HATE YOU" - 40% Repetitive scenes (like an Indian drama serial) - 20% Butler - 0.5% Ratings: Opening and ending song - 10/10Fighting - 5/10 Animation - 4/10 Storyline - 3/10 Basically, this anime's concept and name piqued my interest. But it was boring from start to finish. It had potential with it's good characters but the story line was pretty bad. Things were moving too fast. And the sudden realization that every character in the anime magically had powers instead of just a few or as gradual development was a bit boring. Needless to say, some part of the anime was good but mostly it wasn't a good watch.

"It's pretty complicated anime but it starting to interesting!" Let's start with the synopis! Koma Jinguji (Jay) is the smart and handsome student council president, whose elegant smile captures the hearts of women. Tsubasa Hayakawa is a multi-talented and gentle shop assistant at a café, where his cafe latte with owl latte art is very popular with female customers. Being called the charming "Butlers", the two men travel through time to fight supernatural battles against their archenemy and also experience a slapstick comedic life at their academy. My Review : 1. Story [ 8 ] At first I also feel little puzzled. because the story are little complicated. it shouldrated only 4 at first since i dont really understand the story, I only know Jay are being send to the world after hundred years ago and suddenly he appear in the school. It's full of mysterious. But after I'm watching through now is episode 7. I'm little know it. and suddenly appear many descent of butlers which is the same as Jay and Tsubasa. I don't know if Jay can save Tenna or not. since there's are still puzzled. But i think the real fact of the hundred years ago soon will be known if the we keep watch. 2. Art [ 9 ] Pretty good. 3. Sound [ 10 ] OP and ED are pretty good. I love both them <3 4. Character [ 8 ] Many handsome men at there, lol. I love Jay <3 Others also good. <3 5. Enjoyment [ 8 ] At first it's little boring since i keep confusing about what is the story about this anime seriously. But now, I think it's not really that bad. since Truth always coming at the end. I love mysterious :) 6. Overall [ 8 ] Not really recommend. I think most of people doesn't like it since it's kinda confusing story. But if you like some story like mystery. Not like me. I'm quite understand now the story. It's just like story about an person who sacrifice her/him life for saving world. but got betrayed and fail. being send to 100 year later to refrain from happening again.

If there is any word which can describe this anime perfectly that would be crappy other than the story concept, everything else was lousy...Don't get your hopes high for the story it is not that great either I just said that story concept was great, super cool butlers having supernatural powers and girls falling for them it makes you wonder this anime would definitely be great let me get into details; First we are introduced of the characters and we feel like well this is going to be good at-least but our poor expectations die's out soon enough to a point where I even thought of dropping this anime... Ihad nothing to do anything else so I continued anyway soon the story progressed and everything was getting to a conclusion in the amidst of poor art direction poor sound sync and pathetic story buildup I finally somehow managed to finish the anime (note that story concept was great super cool butlers having supernatural powers) I don't know what the writer was thinking but he was't able to build the story well to a certain point where one might think what did the writer even wanted to accomplish by throwing arrows randomly in the air as far as the genre is concerned.. He was neither able to build perfect harem moments and neither was able to deliver any cool action ...there was somewhat mystery but it got a bit lame result at the end...when I read the genre it belonged to on this site it also had labelled it funny and believe me the most funniest thing of this anime was that it was labelled funny This anime didn't even made me cracked a smile once let alone a laugh. Seriously I don't know what this anime had to offer other than a guy with somewhat of sister-complex thrown by her a 100 years later in future at the end told by her fiance that she loved him more and soon realizing that he shouldn't go back because that is not what she would have wanted (lame) again I can't stretch it enough the story may sound a little bit cool for some people but the way directer directed the story the way writer progressed the story in a confused manner..it was not clear what was he trying to make. Art...especially character art the artist thought making everyone's face pointy will make them more handsome and cool that maybe somewhat true for male characters but with female characters too not so cool man! There was hardly any character left other than that cat who had the broken jewel and the wicked girl from the competition and the president rival who was not from the butlers bloodline I even thought for a second that the cat would also end up being a butler..Even though all the characters in the end found that they were butlers with supernatural abilities but no one bothered fighting the freaking enemy at the end they just kept standing gazing...I would have definitely thought that they had popcorn in there hands and would be enjoying together if it were not to MC who got thrown down towards them later and they at-least uttered are you OK? There were problems with the art in the last episode action scenes had flaws sound sync was poor there was hardly anything that caught my attention in a positive way. In the end DON'T waste your time watching this anime....
