Kidou Senshi Gundam: Twilight Axis - Akaki Zanei

Mobile Suit Gundam: Twilight Axis is easily the worst Gundam-related thing I have ever had the displeasure of watching. Normally, I would jump straight into dissecting why I dislike it so much, but, quite frankly, I barely have any clue what actually happened. I don’t know what the purposes of any of the events happening are, I could not describe any personality traits of our central characters and only slightly understand why they do anything at all, and the only reason I even know what the setting is and when this takes place is because I read the plot synopsis. Where is Axis? Why arethey fighting there? Why did the Federation send a Gundam to fight Zeon soldiers there? Are they even Zeon soldiers? I do not know the answer to any of these questions after sitting through the entirety of this completely broken story. It’s also by far one of the worst-looking Gundam anime I’ve ever seen. I’m not expecting Unicorn-level artwork since this is such a small project, but that doesn’t make the confusing fight choreography, terrible editing, mediocre character designs, and general lack of animation overall any less insulting. Even the mobile suits aren’t particularly interesting. This anime has nothing. The only reason I don’t find it to be a complete insult is that there are two or three passable action cuts here and there. As far as I can tell, there’s nothing here that you’ll need for future installments, and even if there was, you wouldn’t be able to figure out what it is anyway. What a waste of space.
