The Adventures of the Little Prince
星の王子さま プチ・プランス
The Little Prince lives on Asteroid B612, a tiny rock floating in space. He spends his days cleaning out the three small volcanoes on the asteroid (which he also uses to cook his breakfast) weeding out the baobob trees that threaten to take over, and caring for his friend the Rose Girl. When he gets lonely for company he catches a comet in his butterfly net and flies off to Earth for all sorts of adventures. (Source: ANN)

I just know 6 year old me would have had a BLAST with this anime adaptation of The Little Prince. As many other children, The Little Prince was the very first book I ever read, and seeing it brought to life on screen evoked a deep sense of nostalgia. While the anime does a good job in capturing the essence of the original story, I WISHED it had been more imaginative, exploring more planets and delving into the myriad worlds that Saint-Exupéry hinted at in his book. HOWEVER, I understand that the creators aimed to capture th e human essence and profound themes rooted onEarth. But when they did take some elements of the original story and referenced them, I lost my mind. I would have liked to get to see more of the book characters but the original characters NEVER missed, most of them were just as creatively made as the ones in the book. The Little Prince retains his innocent wisdom and childlish reflections, making the show resonate deeply with fans of the book. There were several moments that moved me to tears… The anime is a heartfelt tribute that encapsulates the spirit of the book while adding its unique touch.
