Well, WTF? This was one of those animes that I watched long ago and forgot about, 5 years later a wild OVA appears. A pretty classic ecchi show, with a perverted MC and some cute moments... I've never seen anyone talk about this show. Pretty standard animation with few complains and some distinctive art that may appeal or turn off some people. I actually enjoyed this OVA, that actually delivers a closed ending to a type of show that usually never gets it. Besides being enjoyable by itself, this OVA improved my enjoyment of the show and it makes it actually an enjoyable, full, satisfactory andcasual experience. So, if you want an ecchi romcom that is actually satisfactory, and you want to have an easy and simple enjoyment you might want to check it. If you enjoy these kind of shows, this should be your cup of tea. Boi, this kind of OVAs should be a more common thing, I'm actually glad to see stuff like this.

Not every series needs a conclusion. This is especially true for a series that is built on episodic gag comedy and that has a gimmick of showing the main girl's panties every episode. This type of show did not win over fans with complex storytelling or really any sort of substantial drama whatsoever, so it's quite puzzling why the creators felt that such a dramatic finale was necessarily. If you're reading this review I assume that you're familiar with the 2014 TV series adaptation of Majimoji Rurumo. In that series you should note the plot point that states that Kouta's life will end when his contractwith Rurumo expires. This was a relatively minor plot point in the TV series and was mostly ignored in favour of comedic episodic plots. In the OVA this plot becomes front and centre and serves as the primary conflict of the story. It's really hard to explain why I dislike this OVA so much without blatantly spoiling it. I'll try my best to not go into too many specifics. Basically the OVA ends status quo ante. In my opinion there is no significant difference between the status quo at the end of this OVA and at the end of the TV series. I understand that this point can be disputed but really any differences that exist are relatively minor compared to all the drama, intrigue, grieving, and despair that was expressed in these final 2 episodes. In my mind this makes the entire final 2 episodes hopelessly pointless. I want to emphasize that I am not opposed to dramatic plots in comedy series in general. My big qualm with this finale just comes from the fact that nothing substantial results from all the drama. What was all this conflict for? Just to confirm an ending that didn't need confirming? None of the key elements of the conflict in this OVA are even hinted at in the series. The OVA heavily features a character that only appeared ONCE in the TV series and features many more characters that never appeared. This OVA just created a dramatic plot out of thin air and then dramatically and climatically resolved it, all just so we could go back to the same situation we were at at the end of Episode 12. What was the point of it all? I just wanna conclude this review by saying that I understand the frustration of watching 12 episode anime series' that don't have proper conclusions. I've personally understood the feeling of wanting a series you love to have a proper conclusion. But if the conclusion you so desired is completely divorced from everything that made the series worthwhile in the first place, then is it really worth it? Some stories are better left unresolved.

I love the prequal so I was really happy when I realised that it finally had an conclusion to end it. But once I watched it I was left very unsatisfied. There are spoilers but I don't think it should matter much since it's just an ova. There are good and bad things about this ova let's start with the good. Koto is still a good guy at heart and I loved how he decided to use his last wish. The "tea date" he had with Rurumo was adorable and going shopping for Rurumo's last day was really sweet. I specifically loved the ending partwhen Kota said "she used to be my sister" and man using the same ending song kicks back the nostalgia, with all the same voices I loved and missed. Getting to see Rurumo always a plus. The first episode was really great so what went wrong I wonder? Ep 2 was a complete disaster i'll tell you that. Ep 1 is a solid 6. Ep 2 deserves a 4 for how badly written it was. First up is how the fact humans were used for magic was simply only glossed over (though it now makes sense why his wishes would make him die) but human lives should not be something used in a show like this, But the very worst thing was the overdramatic court scene. If you don't like unreasonable coincidence for plot convenience then you definitely won't like the cliche fairy queen rescue. Didn't she spend enough time on earth to know not to cross a street like that especially with a car so close. Plus Kota met her twice (how often do you run into a person so much and on the same day). But no the coincidence doesn't end there. How convenient the person he saved was the queen and how convenient that fairy queen even kept his body. It doesn't even end with just the queen. What are coincidence they found out where Kota's soul crystal was kept and that one specifically. (yes i'm aware some of what I said occurred in ep 1 but until ep 2 I did not realize how bad these small coincidence would ruin ep 2) Not to even mention how ridiculous and dumb the plan even is They knew the soul crystal itself couldn't speak or hear itself yet steal stole it making the whole thing pointless if it wasn't for Mimi who "coincidently" had a body for him Rurumo was prepared to go back to being a trainer witch again which would have made Kota's entire sacrifice worthless. Not to mention she would need to end another person's life to become a witch again Kota's excuse on how he came back to life I'm not sure weather I should find it funny or dumb. Little other things I need to add in. - I think the art was worst then before might just be my imagination though - Why wasn't there another way to stop the car. Using ice was way too abnormal and weird did no passable realise the car was stopped by ice?? - They tried to fit too much stuff into two episodes

Wlep, it took quite a long time fro this to be aired, but at long last the ending came, basically this was based on the Majimoji Rurumo: Makai-hen manga, and serve as a sequel to the TV anime. So we can safely say that this is were the franchise ends......I think. But, anywayz, since this is where finale was, I can say that storywise, it was good, when we see Kota gave his life so that Rurumo can finally become a witch, make that a double since unbeknownst to both Kota and Rurumo the girl they saved was the witch queen, who was5,011 years old whom at the end gave the two a good ending where Warura get's to keep her 1st class status after abetting Rurumo for stealing the crystal that contains Kota's soul from the guardians, Rurumo get's to stay as a witch and Kota......well well he get's to live again and gets back to earth though IMAO I think it would have been better that instead of giving a lame excuse that he was able to woke up and slip out quietly before the cremation , Ruruma could have just altered the memories of everyone as if that Kota's dead never occurred, but then again the good part was that Kota and Rurumo no longer have to pretend that they're sibling , they're officially lovers and Rurumo get to attend school with Kota, so without any more adieu, here were my ratings: Story- Good 7: Since this is were the franchise ends, but the part as to what kind of excuse that Kota gave that he back from the death was just tooooooo lame . Art-Fair 6: It was suppose to have some ecchi in it, but not here. Sound- Very Good 8: that for the ending theme "Futari no Chronostasis" by Phoebe Chan. Character- Good 7: Here, it was mostly Rurumo and Kota where their relationship progresses as they become lovers. Warura and his familiar were there and were able to provide the good support . Enjoyment- Very Good 8: what can I say studio JC Staff did save the best for last. Overall- Very Good: I was worth watching as we say good bye to the franchise, but we have to be very honest that this was not the original creator, Watanabe, Wataru's best work.
