Rail Romanesque

As a person who isn't familiar with Maitetsu whatsoever, I didn't think I would enjoy Rail Romanesque. But surprisingly, I kinda did. To put some context to it, Rail Romanesque is apparently a short spin-off to the fairly acclaimed visual novel Maitetsu. But one thing should be made clear: I don't think having prior experience of Maitetsu is needed to watch or enjoy this short. And that is coming from a person who knows almost nothing about the original visual novel but still enjoyed it. The plot of Rail Romanesque is very bland. Simply put, it's about a bunch of "Raillords" (or "cute train-girls", if you will)trying to come up with ideas to make the railways more advanced and popular among the tourists. As you can see, there's not really a proper story here, and the characters aren't great either. Besides, considering the entire anime is around only 40 minutes long, any kind of character development is almost nonexistent. Even on the production side, Rail Romanesque is quite mediocre. The character designs are quite decent, but the visuals are rather ordinary. While the ending songs aren't bad and the voice is acting is actually decent, the background music mostly consists of generic cheerful tunes that are easily forgettable. So, if everything about Rail Romanesque is so unimpressive, why should you watch it? Well.... Because it's pretty wholesome. Despite its simplicity and mediocrity, Rail Romanesque kept me entertained for the entirety of its span because of how cute it was. The characters of the anime, despite being very generic, are honestly entertaining. Watching them do cute things together is pretty fun. There are occasional Shoujo Ai moments as well, that will probably warm your heart. I'm very disappointed that this anime is so short, though, as I actually would like to watch a full-length TV version of it. Rail Romanesque is nowhere near being remarkable, but I would say it's worth a try nonetheless. Everything about it is very cute and adorable. You may even learn a thing or two about trains after watching it. It's only around 40 minutes long, too. Also, if you are into train-girls for some reason, it has plenty of them.

Another anime that uses girls with reference to some form of transport ... Have you ever thought how much locomotives can be a good attraction in your travels? Not? Well, I present you Rail Romanesque, the anime that will show you that learning more about railway lines can be cool. Rail Romanesque, or Maitetsu, is a short anime that doesn't have a need to watch episodes in the correct order. It features 9 characters, known as "Railloads" and which has the function of looking for a solution so that there are more tourists in its facilities. The anime itself follows this proposal until the end, wherebasic things of our day to day are used as tools to increase the popularity of the railroads. In addition, some pairs were created, so that they could think and work together during their walks in the city where they were. I have to say that Maitetsu's idea is already quite repeated in anime with little screen time, since the staff needs to speed up or lengthen some story so that it still remains interesting. I think they preferred the second option. Instead of proposing quicker suggestions that would allow us to see something new, they chose to use half an episode to develop a character proposal and the other half to see what some other group would see. The show ended up making mistakes due to this factor and made it an authentic and proper proposal, in another of the anime that committed the terrible structural error, which aroused disinterest in those who watched. The very beginning of my review is doubtful because of this. In addition, we realized that the show wanted to put a large amount of text in a very short space of time. The clearest example of this is when character house posters are shown throughout the episodes, with additional information, in addition to references to the real world and the personality of each one. For those who are interested, it is cool to pause the anime and read a little of what is written, but I see that it makes the same mistake as some standard isekais. Like? Well, this way of inserting long texts is common in animes that prefer to approach the concepts of their world and care more about the adventures themselves. And isekais use this type of narrative a lot to persuade and get the public's attention, although it doesn't work in most cases. However, the show is not a complete waste of time. He really has his cool side and manages to create fun and interesting gadgets to be seen. How delightful it would be to see a new city in the style of the 18th century. Even I wanted to go on a train in my country. It is a pity that in Brazil this is not so accessible ... In addition to giving us a brief desire to learn about other ways of life, some cultures from certain places in Japan and China are presented, which made me happy with the show. I did not imagine the wide variety of locomotives in both countries, especially in the highly technological world in which we live. Overall, Rail Romanesque is not a bad anime, but it is also not as good as I expected. He previously transmits the elements he wants and manages to interest us, even for a few seconds. He is weak compared to the longest anime and will one day be forgotten by most. I must say that I will not forget Rail Romanesque anytime soon. It was a new and unique experience for me, so no matter how you rate this type of show, give the anime a try and enjoy another different and innovative type of show.

Rail Romanesque was an odd experience, and while it meets most standards of production quality, it's just so specific. It serves as a testament to the sheer variety of anime out there, and proves that if there's a niche to be filled then there's going to be something to fill it! Then when I found out this is a spin-off of an eroge visual novel, it felt as though I briefly lost my grip on reality. There are countless rabbit holes inthe world of anime, a great many of them weird, and this is indeed one of them. It's a train waifu anime, presented to the viewer without a hint of irony. Beginning with the story, if you can call it that, there's not much to see really. It's a barebones concept, with the girls going on little adventures and coming up with merchandising ideas for their various trains and rail lines. It is unclear if the Raillords (the train themed waifus in question) are themselves biological or mechanical, since they seem to eat coal and are once referred to as 'manufactured', but in the interludes they write about them being assigned to rail lines in order to save them from diminishing ridership and there is a bath scene where they appear completely human, so it's hard to tell. The art is the strength of this anime, but not a particularly impressive strength. I was drawn in because the uniforms seemed interesting and hinted at unique worldbuilding, but once I was in there was no reason not to stay for the other 36 minutes of the season. It's colorful and fun, but nothing out of the ordinary. The sound is similarly boilerplate, with simple, light music throughout and standard quality voice acting. The characters are a little simple and I had no real investment in them, but if I had to choose my favorites, they would be the bug-obsessed Riiko and the group tsundere Beni. Overall, I can only really recommend this if you like trains to the point of deriving joy from their mere essence being distilled into waifu form.

Most of this anime was just about merch, which made the story confusing And also half of this was about a girl looking for bugs So we can conclude there was no real story for engagement. The characters were not really developed but brought on a history of being a train, That's kinda it. For real honesty most of the time watching this, I was spacing out That is not a good pointer for this. But In a positive factor, thecharacters look cute with their kinda looking traditional outfits Overall would I recommend this Nope, not at all
