A recap of the first season and a small preview of the beginning of the second, Dr. Stone makes its return to the anime stage in light of the second season, starting at the beginning of next year. I am hyped for S2, I've heard great things about it story-wise, I've even made the effort of putting the manga on hold as to not spoil myself for the upcoming Stone Wars Saga. Dr. Stone was one of the better shows of last year, and with its increase in manga sales and its reception among anime fans has spurred a sequel series in the making. Shonen Jump'sSpecial Anime Festa 2020 released this episode onto Crunchyroll's YouTube channel with English subs, so you can watch it there. For about 19 minutes of the video, we revisit the events of season 1 with commentary from Senkuu and Ruri, glossing over the major achievements Senkuu and the village were able to achieve in preparation of the fight against Tsukasa and his army. They reused old scenes of the show, so the animation and artwork hasn't changed. It was nice to hear some of the songs used in the first season, as they were able to use the soundtracks properly. It was overall a very nice refresher to re-jog our memories. Moving onto the last quarter of the episode, we get new content that leads up to the beginning of season 2, seeing a couple new inventions from Senkuu, as well as the start of the operation. I'm buzzing to start S2. Overall, this was a good refresher of season 1, and as a way to build up hype for season 2. I hope that season two improves to solve the technical issues that it faced last year. 6/10.

This recap episode for the first season did a fantastic job at going over the main events of Dr Stone. I wasn't expecting much as recaps in general tend to feel rushed due to it's nature, but with this, I was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed the recap and would probably watch it again. The pacing was good and most of the important/key scenes were included. The only thing missing was some of the backstory events, but we see visual references of that anyway. The recap felt short and sweet so it was overall an easy watch. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who needs a quickrefresher in preparation for the next season. Plus there is a preview from the next season which I thought was nice to include.

I almost started counting seconds to the second season release, but it seems that 2021 is yet to arrive, and then this recap dropped, then I thought, cool, it's a recap, but at least it's something. While a cool and condensed screening of everything that happened in the first season, it did contain some original animation at the end of the episode, and probably scenes from the second season which made it more hyped up for us on the waiting bench. Looking at this again, the animation is great, still missing the point from people criticizing it when it was still being aired, the OSTs areas amazing as I remember them to be too. Senku's confident voice is here as well with all of the rest of the cast. All in all, a decent recap that covers the real prize that is the last 3 minutes which gives you an idea of what they might be facing in the next season.

Dr. Stone: Stone Wars - Kaisen Zenya Special Eizou (2020) Recap episode which actually is pretty well done. It begins with nice formatting for retelling the story to future generations like with Senku's dad. It is actually a really nice way to make a recap seem more like an episode. The recap itself was very informative and enjoyable. I would say it is kind of bad that a whole 2 cour show can be summarised so quickly. It does have a great structure and it nice to watch. Art is the same due to it being mostly cut scenes, even the new bits like the startare very well done. Sound is the same quality as before. Characters are the same as before. It is alright in the end but a recap is a recap and they will never be as good and always seem a bit pointless. It would be much better to throw a couple of minute recap since the last episode onto the first episode of the new season like with most non-anime shows. Feels like a bit of overkill to produce a full episode for this purpose. If you want people who haven't seen season 1 to come to join the season 2 watchers giving them 22 minutes as a full recap probably isn't great as an idea as now they can skip it.

There isn't much to say about this one. This is essentially a recap of the first season, but also a teaser for the next one. As far as recap/teaser trailers go, this was done VERY well. Usually, they are incredibly boring and sitting through them can just feel painful - but this was enjoyable and scenes were shown briefly before moving on since this is the length of a single episode. It ends with what will either be at the start of Season 2 or Season 2 will follow immediately after it. Either way, enjoyable like the rest of the series.
