The strange thing about the "Onegai Teacher" series is that, for an anime with a premises that's so obviously based on fetish fantasy straight out of someone's head, it had zero hardcore fanservice (as in panty shots, nudity etc). I'm sure that a lot of people who were attracted to the series based on the synopsis were hoping to see a little more than a hot teacher pouting and making a few cute poses. Well, this OVA special goes about rectifying that problem, letting loose all those elements that, for some strange reason, were suppressed in the original series. In other words, this OVA ispretty much all about the fanservice, so there isn't really much to talk about. What's really funny though, is that they try to disguise the purpose of this blatent fanservice episode by pretending that it actually contains a meaningful message, a kind of "see - there's actually a real purpose to this episode" claim. ...Yeah, right. I didn't buy it for a second. Please don't try and pretend this OVA is anything other than a cheap excuse for fanservice. Even by "Onegai Teacher" lowly standards, this is a low point (or a high one, depending on your point of view), and THAT is saying something...

I must say that all that I wrote on my review about the series Onegai teacher applies to this OVA. There is no significant change. I thought the animation was a bit of a step down from the series, though. BUT nothing dramatic. Kazami sensei's mom is still a "WTF?!" character to me. But there is nothing really bad to say about this OVA. Overall I really enjoyed this OVA it was a nice closure for the series and very fulfilling. I'm not an ecchi fan, but I actually like that we get to see Kei and Mizuho relationship get deeper ( I also enjoyed Kei finallycalling his wife by her name).

I'd have to admit that this wasn't quite as bad as I remember, but it's still not very good at all. The characters, art, animation, music and voicework are of the same standard as the TV show, so no need to go back over that. Where the show seriously fails is in the story department. More to the point, the plot in this OVA is ultimately redundant. The 'problem' that Hatsuho sets out to solve doesn't exist because it was resolved in the TV series. Indeed, in the opening minutes it's revealed that Kei and Mizuho have no problems in that department andneed no help. It's overall in bad taste, the dialogue is juvenile and not funny and Hatsuho's actions.....yeah, ewww. It's really a pretty poor excuse for softcore porn. The other characters show up pretty much to only say 'oh look, Kei's with some hot chick!' If the OVA didn't come bundled with the TV series, I'd say give it a miss. It's not funny and there's just no point to it.

Watching the original made me wonder what the heck this ova was. The mood and themes weren't really the same. Trust me, after you've watched the series which was ok, you'll wonder wth kind of fan service this thing is. First of all it lacks modesty in terms of sexual imagery and themes. In the series they limited sexual content, in this one its just another level, there is even a 3 second part where you see Kei doing it to the teacher (it barely gets to the hentai category but its just an excuse for some softcore action i guess). The story was prettylacking, characters had no development at all, just fan service for the fans who im sure might like it if they are uber fans. I give this overall a 3/10.

While many judge this as simple "fan-service/ecchi" and deem it horrendous, I disagree. As a whole, Onegai Sensei was humorous, dramatic, well-paced, and great in general. However, the series did come off with some "forced-drama" as well as being maybe a little sad overall to some, but it was a great piece. That being said, this OVA, as a standalone, is not that great. However, when watched after the series, it bring a refreshing change of pace with our favorite characters. There were a lot more expressions and "lols" moments than the average Onegai Sensei episode. It was not a horrendous OVA, but a nice change-of-pace epilogue.Since my biggest aspect of any anime is enjoyment, I give this a 9~9.5/10 overall!
