Let me start off by first saying this OVA should've been a full series, Watching this anime made me realize why I first started watching anime in the first place. Maybe it's just me but the ever repeating cycle of School based animes with boring leads and stereotypical archetype females became quite dull; that being said Denpa Teki na Kanojo is a breath of fresh air that left me hungering for more. In my eyes their are several reasons why i will watch an anime through and through -A. Well written story with no plot holes, B. Great Cast of characters that you reallylike and C. Great Director and Staff who have proven themselves before. This anime has all 3, but the biggest reason I believe this anime succeeds is the characters. Juuzawa made this anime for me, I loved his character (then again i like delinquents and/or characters that don't give a crap) FINALLY! I MEAN FINALLY! a character in a school setting anime that isn't a pushover that does anything the girls tell him to do. Ochibana complemented Juuzawa perfectly, The reasoning for her attachment to him is a bit quaint but truth be told that doesn't matter. Im not gonna mention parts of the story because this is a 2 episode OVA, any mentioning of the story for an OVA this short feels like a spoiler. Director Kanbe, Mamoru did a great job with this one, the voice actors match all the characters spot on, and the dark yet upbeat feel of this anime makes for a great watch. It's a shame that an anime as good as this couldn't get a full season considering the crap that Japan spews out. I would've given it a perfect 10 but considering how short the OVA is I can only give it a 9

I came into this after reading all the good reviews and high MAL score so i thought this would be a good anime to watch with my friends. I was right but so wrong and we had some of the best laughs yet. Character motivations are ambiguous at best with our two protagonists putting themselves on the line in unrealistic and unreasonable circumstances. We get to know next to nothing about out generic yandere clingy female and ambitiousless male lead. We get to feel nothing for the charecters who are lost in the hopless edgyness of this anime. Now, there is no problem with edginess. Elfen Lied,Higurashi or Shingeki do it well, but this is because they set up a convincing scenario where the gore is justifiable to the message. Denpa Teki makes it just seem so crass and immature. This is in part due to how one dimensional all the charecters are, but also due to how weak the stories are and convoluted the stories are. Seriously, how can anyone not laugh at the end of OVA 1. it's as if the writter came along and said "we aren't quite being crazy enough so let's just do a complete as pull in the name of gore". Or how about the shear stupidity of the end of OVA 2. What about the constant spoon feeding? I could honestly put these charecters and story on a Mars of Destruction Tier. The only saving grace is the art which is well done, but overemphasizing on things which have no value to the plot such as the reacuring statue in OVA 1. You guys wonder why it wasn't a full anime... well it's obvious to if you look hard enough.

Throw some nice ambient, some great op/ed themes, very nice art, an interesting and somewhat original story, mix them together... It usually doesn't always end up well. Because integrity is needed. Well, this anime, two episodes OVA, has very nice sounds and ambiance music, touching ed themes, an art that is catchy (even by today's standards) and a story that is very, very intriguing. Firstly, it is not a shounen where high school kids go for their so-called romance. It is not an 'bleeding-edge' science-fiction either. It is something that can, though unlikely, happen in daily life. This makes it better, because characters are not so deep withsome great resolve or aim, which would make them shallow otherwise. However, they fit in, they feel real. Therefore, it has integrity. Secondly, although the story is not a masterpiece, it is not a usual slice of life either. The way it is presented, yes, looks and feels like a slice of life, but the core is not. I would think it would dissolve integrity and introduce plot holes, but it is quite the contrary. Starting with serial killers just like Mirai Nikki, it resolves rather modest and satisfying. Not a sharp taste, a soft taste indeed. Talking more about it will spoil, so I will just stop here. Finally, the art deserves an applause. Animations are great, scenery is great, facial expressions are particularly great. It is not stylistic, which makes it better for the overall presentation. Voice acting, on the other hand, could be a little better. Maybe they should've seen the facial expressions first, then voice it, but still, not an earsore. I rate the sound 10 because it is not overwhelming. You do not realize it's there until you pay attention (developer ear here) and it just drags you into immersion. Overall, don't waste your time with moe and shounen; watch this, enjoy, and up your standards. 2 episodes will be enough to feel satisfied. That's what makes this a gem.

If you are a fan of things like deeper character development, rational thinking, realistic characters and mystery watch something else. Denpa Teki na Kanojo tries to be a showcase of crazy people, but achieves barely anything else ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Cons *Denpa Teki na Kanojo tries very hard to make it's characters seem insane, but doesn't give them a proper buildup which leads to their condition feeling forced. *It is filled with spontaneous plot developments that ruin the atmosphere (i.e. pulling information out of seemingly thin air or conveniently running into a corpse.) *The characters are often plagued with a lack of common sense abnormal even for the horror genera.* The mystery was weak, it was too predictable at times and too unpredictable at others (can't explain more without spoilers) * Tries to be episodic, but with only 2 episodes it feels lacking. Pros *Lots of crazy characters ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The art and sound were average. Nothing special but nothing bad either. If you want to watch an anime about crazy people give this a shot, but don't expect anything else.

I just happen to have stumbled upon this beautiful 2 episode OVA to waste a well deserved 2.5 hrs, I'm glad I found this! First off let me say this isn't your typical anime show and should have been a series or at least I hope they do so in the near future. I like how the story started, then meeting this freakish dark aura looking girl who happens to follow the protagonist around saying he and she are bonded for generations in the previous life(weirdo right?) oh did I mention their insane killings, murders, character change, huge unexpected turns? Wait!! wait!!! you'll have towatch it for yourself. I'm sure you'll enjoy it ... Just my two cents
