Super Cube
超能立方 超凡篇
Wang Xiaoxiu has been harboring feelings for his childhood friend, Shen Yao, for as long as he can remember. Now attending the same college, he is shocked to discover that Yao reciprocates his feelings. However, word spreads quickly about the two, and Xiaoxiu finds himself pursued by a delinquent group led by Sun Jun, who wants Yao for himself. While Xiaoxiu fights for his love, he ends up unconscious and falls into a river. As Xiaoxiu wakes up, he is drawn to a strange light at the riverbed. When he makes contact with the object, it merges with his body, pulling him into another dimension. An unfamiliar voice introduces itself as the Horadric Cube and makes Xiaoxiu its new host. Fortunately for him, the cube comes with a pleasant surprise—he gains the power to teleport as well as improving his proficiency in fighting. Xiaoxiu must now collect various gemstones for the cube to absorb in order to gain even more strength to protect himself and the people he cares about from whatever dangers lie ahead. The story had potential—it’s unique and not entirely predictable. But that’s where the positives end. The execution is poor, and there’s virtually no story build-up. Events just happen without proper pacing or explanation, making it hard to stay engaged. The characters are one-dimensional and lack any real development. There’s no emotional depth, no realistic reactions, and absolutely no growth. They felt more like placeholders than people. The only saving grace is the animation. Visually, it's smooth and polished. The action scenes are well-done and enjoyable to watch, but they can’t carry the entire show on their own. Good animation means nothing if the story and characters fallflat. Overall, it’s a disappointing experience. If you care about story or character development, you’ll likely walk away frustrated. The action is the only reason to check this out, but even that isn’t enough to make up for the weak writing. Ratings: Starting: 8/10 Story: 5/10 Story Build-up: 1/10 Character Build-up: 1/10 Animation: 9/10 Action: 9/10

First of all, I really liked the animation quality — it clearly reflects the studio’s capabilities and attention to detail. When it comes to the story, however, I would say it is rather mediocre. It definitely had the potential to be much better, but instead, it feels like a patchwork of ideas borrowed from various other anime. This makes the plot somewhat predictable and lacking originality. As for the battle scenes, the visual effects and animation quality are simply stunning. The action sequences are dynamic and visually impressive. However, the presence of "plot armor" is a bit too obvious in certain moments — it becomes hard toignore. One thing that really bothered me is that the main character, Niue, doesn’t use their abilities during some critical fights. I couldn’t quite understand why, and this inconsistency made those scenes feel frustrating and unrealistic. In conclusion, if you enjoy anime like Solo Leveling, you’ll probably find Super Cub entertaining as well. It offers good action and visuals, even if the story could have been stronger.

The anime actually starts quite strong. The characters although generic seem quite likable, and plot's easy to follow. The few starting episodes are very well-animated and the action sequences are quite a sight to behold. But somehow the anime fumbles the story afterwards. The story is suddenly ripped apart from the main story to a side story that's very in-cohesive and incoherent at times. The power scaling completely falls apart. Every new "enemy" that gets introduced completely lacks character and just feels bland. Even the side characters completely fall flat compared to the first parts of the anime. All in all, it's an enjoyable anime ifyou temper your expectations.

This project is extremely anemic and falls short on multiple fronts; writing, dialogue, pacing. No element feels like it matters in the slightest, be that the introduction of another character, enemy or faction. Lots of inconsistencies between scenes (damage to clothing/MC) that it starts to feel like lazy editing. The story doesn't matter to the point that you can watch first half of episode 1 and then the entirety of episode 7(which is gorgeously animated) and call it a wrap. This show basically catfishes you with animation in those two episodes, the rest is you wishing for any kind of meaningful story development/progression that neverarrives.

For what’s basically a Chinese knockoff of Solo Leveling, this anime is actually pretty enjoyable it went by fast. The animation was a big surprise at the start too. If they had a bit more budget and a bigger animation team, it could honestly be better than Solo Leveling, 'cause they’ve got some really cool ideas for the fights. Story-wise, it’s not that different either full focus on the MC’s progression and definitely dynamic enough to keep viewers from getting bored. Overall, a solid anime especially in a season full of ecchi trash aimed at horny dumb teenagers. Also, the blue haired girl TOP
