Ore wa Seikan Kokka no Akutoku Ryoushu!

This anime held my interest from the very first episode. The backstory of the main character was delivered at just the right pace: neither too long nor too short-making his wish to become an “evil lord” feel completely justified. The MC isn’t overpowered from the start. In fact, he begins at the very bottom, in a situation where most would fall into despair. Instead of wasting time with long episodes of depression or endless self-reflection, the anime paces itself well and shows the MC confronting his circumstances directly. Character design and personalities are well balanced. While the MC can be somewhat gullible, he never allows his naivetyto become a liability, consistently making the right decisions. Unlike many protagonists in similar series, he is not portrayed as overly merciful to villains. Liam understands when to spare and when to kill, which keeps the stakes meaningful. Despite the title, don’t be misled ,there’s little actual “evil” in Liam’s actions. He deeply values his people and the populace under him. As for romance, while it isn’t the main focus, it’s handled surprisingly well. There’s enough to satisfy viewers seeking a subplot of love, and it even delivers a stronger buildup and payoff than many shows dedicated entirely to romance. The relationship develops naturally, and the payoff is clear by the final episode. I’ve read that this season adapts only the first volume of the light novel out of ten, meaning there’s plenty more material left. Hopefully, we’ll get a second season. That said, even if no continuation arrives, the first season stands well on its own and is satisfying in its execution. Unlike most isekai or reincarnation stories, this one doesn’t rely on overused tropes like harem antics, excessive despair, or dragged-out character suffering. Liam isn’t a shy teenager who struggles to express himself-he’s bold, caring, and courageous enough to openly admit his feelings. Overall, I’m the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire! is a wholesome and refreshing entry in the isekai/reincarnation genre. It has everything: action, romance, character growth-but all in just the right amounts.

Boy oh boy, this anime is amazing!!! Like dude, the title is literally called "I'm the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire!" it can't get more epic than that!!! Aside from that, I really enjoy and love this anime to the fullest of what it has to offer, just like what I wrote in that other anime called "Your Forma" about AI/robots "There's no better feeling than seeing an AI/Robot developing feelings that's more than enough to make her human, the same as anyone else. If she has the will so strong to even cry when showing her true feelings, isn't that more than enough tobe said!!!!!. Amagi and Harold from "Your Forma" are the best examples of such actions!!!" So if you like these types of anime, then go for it. But let's talk about our boy Liam, literally at the age of 5, our boy gotta deal with generational debt from his father and grandfather after they made him the head of the household, once again AT THE AGE OF 5!!! Well, that doesn't matter since he turned all that around and made a larger profit thanks to his "family member," Amagi (his AI), which helped make the right choices, finances, and all to make his planet worth money and pay off the generational debt. Long story short: All goes well and ends well. To my knowledge, the novel to this anime is still ongoing, with the anime adapting the first novel out of the 10 volumes!!! Like dude, we could have 10 seasons of this anime alone at this pace!!! Other than that, just like for the anime "Your Forma" given their connections, this too will be a 10/10

What a surprise! another rare Anime that blows the Manga out of the solar system. Those opening 3 episodes were certainly a stroke of genius, lacking any OP what so ever and directed to capture the viewer into its den of amusement. My review consists of 2 sections; 1. I will offer my thoughts of this show, 2. I will put forth a few ideas which aim to boggle your mind whilst exploring the central theme of the show. A breath of fresh air.Space pirates, Isekai, Struggles between Nobles, Well thought out backstories? It’s got a bonanza of pure bliss. It’s smooth, oozing with sauce and super-bingeable to boot. - Story Fantasy lite, taking a few pages out of the ‘Fantasy Encyclopedia’, plus a large helping of Sci-fi honing in their their efforts there. A great choice by them. Not enough sci-fi to start wriggling around your brain centres for continuity notwithstanding us fantasy lovers would rather have a sea of our fan-favourite elements, but contentment still comes easy. The backstory behind this Isekai is extremely relevant becoming the driving force behind the plot. A Rare sighting, how brilliant! An author actually using the true purpose of the isekai theme. What a backstory it was! it’s crazy but not unbelievable with ample time to take in the true emotion, and to empathize with the perils of the MC. The Manga attempted the same thing, but it felt like an amateur attempt, compared to this which was just short of excellent. Once we enter back into it’s main plot, we get back on track for most Isekai. It’s still retains some charm and ingenuity but it does start to ride the same train tracks we are used to, but with a few jump switches, regarding the pacing which aren’t so appreciated. The is plot somewhat acceptable, right up our alley, lacking tension and having our beloved MC mowing down his enemies in the classic Dynasty warriors esque fashion. I will say that what it does quite well is that you can genuinely hate every single opponent he mows down, the directors with the guidelines from the author expertly lay the foundation for each of the confrontational encounters making every fight meaningful and every defeat feel deserved. This is important, because, I cannot even begin to talk about the amount of isekai where I rooted for the bad guys. The authors of those poor shows were so incompetent that it was so easy to take off the wholly superficial plastic packaging of obtuseness forced on to these characters for the sake of plot. These villains were likes of rapists, thieves, demons, murderers corrupt in all kinds of ways but at the end of the day I preferred and could empathize with their characters more than the main ones. Here I hated every villain, and loved the main cast. There's real villains, scoundrels, scalywags, evildoers and they love it! The type of wicked people, the only thing you can sympathise with is how much they love their job. I can't stress that enough, i used to pray for times like these. The conclusion was very satisfying, and was cleverly directed. The type of ending that you don’t know whether a next season is needed. Naturally, a new installment is gladly welcome but I wouldn’t be distraught if it never came. This studio isn’t known for longer projects either. - Characters When time is put into them, it’s extremely hard not to love them or appreciate them, they’re written with understanding. They mostly play their roles but there’s a richness to their interactions such that where you never feel that you need more of them, especially in these short 12 episodes. For most of them, don’t expect any grandiose character development, the meat is for the main cast. The way they’re written allows the viewer to understand them and empathize with them so barely any of their actions seemed out of place. There’s lazy scumbags in this show that surpass the best characters in so many of the isekai released today. A few of them really gave me a good a chuckle, it's a bag of sweets, so enjoy. - Sound Oh boy did they do well here. From all your favourite sound effects to the soundtracks underscoring its heated moments their efforts shone through. The composer ‘Ceo Yusuke’ I’ve only heard his work from another underrated banger of a show ‘Under Ninja’. He was great there also. From those 2 it's evident that he's got a massive range breathing the life into these worlds, giving me goosebumps at the heights of the show. They were tactful with most of the material sounds and effects although some were a bit off. Comedic tones were clever and the more eerie tracks whilst simple outshone what was going on on-screen sometimes. If I had a critique it could definitely sound a bit more intergalactic, cosmic and celestial it certainly fits the theme, but sometimes you could definitely use it for a world devoid of these elements. - Animation Nothing too remarkable, for the most part a serviceable adventure. Ample detail where needed, various scenes showing good facial expression, minus the robots. If my favourite manga/LN was adapted with this level of animation, I’d have absolutely nothing to complain about, it more than does the job. With a space setting, spaceships, advanced technological weapons, 3D is just perfect for this scenario. It’s ok, but as is standard with Japanese production it’s never that good. The space fights, well everything is followable, but lets just say its the writing and characters carrying the experience. It is possible to get the feeling of grandiose intergalatic fights of sheer magnitude but i suppose the feeling is quite fleeting. They tried very hard with the visuals so the effort is evident and undeniably there though it lacks polish. You'll see all sorts of contraptions and ideas in this, some comes out quite well, some leave a lot to be desired, by all means it's appreciated. - Section Two. Great shows allow you to engage in deep thought about the themes, this show is somewhat a masterpiece for that. This show appears to be not so deep, but in each idea they bring forth, whether knowingly or unknowingly there’s an ocean of depth to be discussed there. I will bring attention to one of the main themes behind this show, it’s not so overtly discussed but it’s totally explicit once you finish the show. AI/Robot vs a Human Woman as a Wife. First of all the primary purpose of a woman than to be a man’s wife, a helpmeet. Her purpose comes from a man. Wo-man literally meaning from-man. Before this show honestly, I’m more of a realist, so if you’d ever ask me about this, I would just brush it off, say that it’s impossible for AI to replace a human woman dismissing that thought as mere folly. Initially I was frustrated, viscerally irritated at the MC’s obsession with the robot, but the truth is you can't really 'simp' on your own Robot. Episodes rolled by and the more I thought about it, the more I watched the show I realized I was wrong. There's an abyss worth of argument for such a peculiar situation... We had quite the intriguing experience of this idea from various shows and games like ‘Nier’ and particularly the show we had quite a few seasons ago ‘My Wife has no Emotion’. A show about a man purchasing a robot in a real world setting, flirting with the idea of replacing a woman with a Robot. It did attempt to tackle this topic but it felt incomplete and ultimately it gave the impression that it didn’t believe it’s own argument. Whilst this is the anticpated conclusion, It’s a shame we couldn’t delve deeper. It did great at painting quite the magnanimous picture of this idea, getting the rubber on the road depicting the sheer awkwardness of displaying a robot as a wife to others and even your own parents. Let’s explore some similarities and differences between a human woman and an AI/robot copy. Human woman - Has emotion, and is more loyal their emotion that to the man. - Can give you offspring whether that is even yours, or productive isn’t guaranteed. - Existential crisis is betrayal of the man. Betrayal is practically impossible to avoid for most. - Needs to be raised, taught and cultured to be useful and productive or else impossible. - Social benefit. - Very Expensive. - Extremely Low Chance to be Virgin. - Value proposition unreliable, value never exceeds price. - Will decide if she will tailor herself to your desires. - Will decide if she wants to give you companionship or real emotional/sexual relief. - Will always be a burden, only redemption is through bearing and rearing productive offspring. - All responsibility, Authority is up for debate Can range from (0- 90%). - Family bridging, creation and inspiration. - Have to protect her. Robot with extremely advanced AI - Fake/manufactured emotion. - No chance at offspring. - Very low chance of betrayal. - Will always be useful and productive. - Negligible social benefit. - Very Expensive. - If not buying used, you’re getting virgin robussy. - Always provides value, value exceeds price. - Will tailor itself to your desires. - Will give you (the illusion of)companionship and real emotional/sexual relief. - Burden reliably relieves as time goes on. - Most of the Responsibility(can blame faults on manufacturer), All Authority. - Empirical benefits are absent; Family creation, bridging, propagation. - Depending on the type can protect you. Can you decide the winner here? However what is even the objective purpose of having a woman in the first place as a man? Indubitably they’re mostly a burden, you’ve got all the responsibility like you would for your child but there's no defnitive sense or reality of control. I would say that the purpose first is children and secondarily bringing 2 different families together expanding influence. However men aren’t all this pragmatic and there is an intrinsic desire, essentially driven from hormones for all men to have something resembling a woman by their side. If you were to get something resembling a woman, a woman is still first choice for the practical and social objectives but for everything else you can’t be shamed for picking a robot. Frankly a robot/AI provides none of these empirical functions, but if you aren’t thinking so existentially and looking for pleasure, aesthetics, functional housekeeping, stewardship and maintenance then suddenly the comparison isn’t so fair towards the human woman. We haven't even begun to explore the canyon of social and legal hurdles which you may incur dealing with a human woman. If we are to think outside the box, are they mutually exclusive? Why not have both? Not sure of any future seasons, so Light novel is the way to go after finishing this, which will tell the story the best out of the 3 mediums. Final Rankings. “I'm the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire!” is what happens when you order Gundam from Wish. Sooo… is this supposed to be a parody or not? I am truly confused. There are a lot of tropes that are straight up laughed at, like learning fencing and having a badass OP AF master. But they are played pretty straight. I like dry humor as much as the next guy but because of a mishmash of tropes and tones I have no idea if this is just a badly written parody or a badly written isekai (yes, I know, there aren’t many well written ones). The storyis surprisingly interesting in the beginning, but the plot is utter garbage from start to finish. Before we start I would like to explain something. I will be talking about “plot” and “story”. Many people use those terms interchangeably. I’m not one of those people, so to make sure everyone is on the same page… PLOT are the surface level events. What, when, where, how and why (externally) things are happening. STORY is why (internally) things are happening and what internally happens to the character during the plot. The first episode is a bit of false advertisement. The tone is much darker and serious than the rest of the show, that is more than anything else a rather cheap comedy that offers very little in terms of originality. It is really bleak, bordering on psychological horror. We see Liam (the MC) at his lowest. He is used by his company, cheated on by his wife and framed by his boss. His daughter turns out not to be his and he dies alone in a dump of an apartment. He resents being a good person because he thinks that is the reason why shit hit the fan. Honestly? Not a bad start. Granted, anyone with a brain will see how moronic his logic is but because of his mental state that logic isn’t something improbable for him to have. It could work both as his motivation and a character flaw to overcome in his next life. We even get a glimpse of him acting like a spoiled sack of shit and being called “The Plundering Count”. I genuinely liked that and was almost hyped to see the rest. Yes, I was naive and, once again, set my hopes way too high. After those 12 episodes I’m actually surprised that the writer was able to create something nuanced and serious as episode 1. It was either a fluke or someone else wrote it. It’s just too good of a prologue for a lazy show like this one. I get it, it's an isekai. Chances of it having anything original or nuanced are close to none but still it is disappointing. If the whole show was dark and psychological like the first episode I would actually like it. An isekai that focuses on psychological trauma and an unhealthy way of dealing with it would have been, at least, something new. But all we get is a cheap comedy that offers nothing new. Wasted potential. I think the most moronic character in the whole show is The Guide. He is positioned as a powerful entity that feeds on negative emotions. The first we see him he feeds on Liam’s despair and hate. Later we see him feed on the misfortune of those that wrong Liam. That was a solid presentation and introduction to an interesting character. His design is also not bad. A suit and hat with some jagged edges. A bit cringe but not a total travesty. We even witness him scheming against Liam in his new life. That also was good. A character that hides his true intent and seemingly has a long term plan for his victim. So why the fuck You turn him into comic relief from episode 3? Why? For effs sake WHY? From episode 3 we see him feed on the misfortunes of others. The problem? It’s really hard to call those misfortunes, more like annoyances than anything else. From feeding on true despair and hate to feeding on frustration because someone's whipped cream separated from coffee. For fuck’s sake. I was hoping that The Guide would turn out to be a sort of connoisseur of negative emotions. A creature that feeds only on the worse the emotional spectrum has to offer. Hate. Despair. Suicidal thoughts. All that good stuff. No. He turns out to be a supernatural trash panda that doesn’t care much about the quality of his food. The writers turned a powerful, scheming antagonist into a pathetic, worthless and more than unfunny joke. You know that old phrase from Johann Wolfhang von Goethe’s “Faust”: “I am part of that power which eternally wills evil and eternally works good". Yeah. On a superficial level that could be said about Liam. He goes on and on about how he wants to be an evil ruler but all he does are things that can only be interpreted as good. He inherits a falling and knee deep in the dead… I mean dept domain and turns it into a prosperous one. He even gets a proper fleet. He is evil in his own words only but he doesn’t seem to understand that. Amagi (his personal AI maid) also isn’t too interested in correcting his thinking. She just gives arguments why some of his ideas are moronic and he just rolls with it. For a protagonist of a show that has “evil lord” in the title Liam is a boring protagonist. On top of that he’s the type of protagonist for whom reality itself bends over backwards like a cheap whore. At some point Liam gets a fencing tutor. Someone who presents himself as a great swordmaster but in reality is just a lazy fraud. That is actually a solid idea. Have Liam suffer in this world just as much disappointment as he did in his previous life. I have no problem with that. It would also fit nicely into the Guide’s plan. But no. Liam is such an otaku that he believes that his teachers' bullshit has deeper meaning. He is so determined to master the blade that he actually does so with a lame teacher that teaches him little apart from the basics. Everything else is just Liam overthinking and finding a way. He even combines sword fighting with magic to the astonishment of his fraud teacher. Why? No one taught him magic at any point. How the hell does he know how to use it? If he had an extra teacher, one that would teach him magic, then combining the two would be a logical step, but he doesn’t have anyone like that. He becomes practically unstoppable after that. Not like there were any real challenges up until this point but now there is no chance of even having a combat challenge for him. It’s just so boring and lazy. I am not even touching, with a 69 meter pole, the subject of his age. In the empire people have very long life spans. You become an adult at 50. We start following Liam when he’s 5 (I think. I’m not willing to die on that hill and I don’t intend to watch this shit show again just to check that). As a birthday gift his own mother helps him to design an AI maid. He chooses everything. I do mean everything. Hair, eyes, boobs, even reproductive organs. Let that sink in. A 5 year old designs his own, practically slave. With sexual use hanging in the air. WHY? Despite him being about 30-40 in the later part of the show (still a kid according to their own laws) a sales representative of a weapon factory tries to seduce him in a very heavy handed way, to get him to purchase her war ships. A grown woman is seducing a child and not one person gives a damn. Eff off. Just… just eff off. All that said, it's not like there aren’t any good ideas and setups here. The problem is they go absolutely nowhere. For starters, Liam has an AI maid (Amagi) by his side almost all the time. It’s stated that the empire despises AIs because of a previous conflict so they are treated with disdain. There is a huge problem with that in itself but I will get to it. Right now I will say that AI status as not even citizens could have been an interesting angle to take. They are sentient and are capable of feelings. Liam showing a middle finger to the rest of the world and gradually granting them status as full fledged citizens of his domain could have been an interesting one. Amagi proved herself on more than one occasion and even led a whole fleet in a space battle. The problem with the AI angle is… well… people aren’t fans of AI so why are they even produced? If they are so hated, why even make them? The conflict with the AI in the past is actually poorly explained so we really don’t know why it happened. The Empire has nothing like Asimov's Three Laws of Robotics so the fact that AI almost eradicated humanity is totally on them anyway. Seriously, why didn’t the AI had any sort of security or fail safe? This is just another example of an empire too stupid to believably exist. Even in the time of the show the AIs don’t have any sort of programming that would impair their free will. Or at least that’s what the writer wants us to believe. The problem is that neither Amagi nor other AI maids ever do anything other than their jobs. So why the disdain? If you have the AIs why make them? If You make them, why not install some safety features? It’s just so dumb. The thing I liked the most and I am really sad that it wasn't explored more was Cronenberg's style of body horror. At some point we are introduced to a pirate boss with a very peculiar fetish. He takes beautiful people and experiments on them to the point of turning them into grotesque creatures. That was an amazing idea. In a lot of shows when a villain like that gets his hands on a named character (this time it’s Christiana) that was given a backstory and some screen time his plan to mutilate his captive is foiled by the hero. Not this time. This time he actually does it. Granted we don’t see the process, which is a shame. I would love to see how Christiana slowly loses both her body and sanity. That alone would elevate this show and even position the pirate boss as a threat. That said, we do see her as a human, then as a monster begging for death and ending the show with her human body restored but having more than enough hate for pirates that she goes full on psycho mode during a fight with them. That alone makes Christiana the most interesting character in this lazy excuse for a show. The show has time for lazy, heavy handed and ultimately pointless fan service but doesn’t have time for scenes that would actually develop characters. Riiiight. I’m sorry but this show is just a waste of time. The ideas are solid but the executions are laughable. I very much doubt that this show had any sort of quality checks and revisions.
