Fermat Kitchen
フェルマーの料理
Since childhood, Gaku Kitada has been fascinated with mathematics. As a student at the prestigious Wels Academy, he aimed to qualify for the Mathematics Olympiad and eventually secure admission to the University of Tokyo to become a great mathematician. His ambitious plans, however, do not come to fruition, as Gaku fails to qualify for the Olympiad's main event due to his anxiety and lack of self-confidence. This disastrous performance, coupled with his decision not to participate in future competitions, leads to his expulsion from the academy. During this crisis, Gaku meets Kai Asakura, an enigmatic professional chef who recognizes Gaku's peculiar way of cooking that incorporates math to create perfectly synergistic dishes. Despite his initial reservations, Gaku begins to utilize his mathematical perspective to cook, rekindling his love for the subject in the process. Wanting to understand this impulse more, Gaku decides to pivot his career trajectory to one that melds numbers with flavors to find solutions that can satisfy both his mind and the palate of his customers. I must say I did not have a lot of hope for this anime based off its intro BUT I am so glad I gave it a shot as it has become one of my Top 5 food based anime! I really like a good story that has an interesting element aside from the generic plot & for this Food based anime that was Math of all things. It gave me Dr. Stone vibes as we got to see the intricacies of cooking in a fun and action packed plot. Both the story and its characters kept me invested from start to finish which iswhy I could not wait to binge it like I normally do with most anime. If you are looking for a food anime that has no fan service (Food Wars) then you should check out Fermat Kitchen... YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!!

"Stunning food drama about Premium quality chefs " Haven't seen a food drama anime in modern japan settings in while specially after food wars . Premise is the most catchy and unique part which made me and also other fans to click on this underrated show . Food + Math is a superb idea to put in a slow burned drama , it's inspirational too in many ways . I loved Fermat's Cuisine at the beginning. As a fan of food movies, this was an indulgent experience beautifully plated dishes, deep discussions on food techniques, and stunning cinematography that captures the art of cooking. With80 percent of the show taking place in the kitchen, it fully immerses viewers in the world of gourmet cuisine . Fement kitchen is heavily inspired by La Grande Maison Tokyo( not a anime ) , If you haven't seen this give it a shot . Overall watching Ferment kitchen was a good experience , enjoyed a lot . Highly recommended for people who loves food and Kitchen settings . I also watching many food related tv shows too e.g master chef .

Really unique concept combining math with cooking. But i think overall execution kinda didn't make sense and confusing, but still kudos for having creativity with the premise. characters are not really interesting, and just flat, only gaku seems interesting. Sad we didn't get much of Kai backstory tho, cus i was curious about him. Overall graphics are standard but i love the food graphics they're all looks delicious. Scoring are decent and well fitted the anime. Opening and ending song are great. Overall it was okay, pretty unique but kinda miss the execution imo. But if u like cooking anime, still give it a try as theyalso giving interesting information about cooking

The story of Fermat no Ryouri has a lot of interesting elements to it, the premise, some of the characters, the subject of cooking, math and especially the relationships between the characters, while the cooking itself is... ridiculous, as is most food related fiction when it comes from Japan, who have made a very tired habit of exaggerating food reactions. It is a manga, a television show and now an anime. And it is possibly the single worst show I've watched, so far. The fatal issue with it is the pacing and the contrived drama. A good story is carried by its implications, while a bad onewill tell you what to think and feel. Fermat no Ryouri does the latter and drowns in tropes, as it overuses ridiculous facial expressions while telling a psychological story of a master and student relationship pushed to an extreme, tackling hurdles that we can all relate to, but also tries to be cute and failing at both. It is absurd without being funny. The all too exaggerated music, effects, reactions and especially the god-awful pacing put you through a torturous roller coaster of hyping you up for the conclusion to the current story and every time it's a cliffhanger, continued in next week's episode, when all that hype is gone. Anime is no stranger to cliffhangers, but this outdated tactic to keep people returning is only necessary if the quality of the show is low and the conclusions are unsatisfying. It also makes the pacing predictable and urges you to skip episodes as soon as you know what the goal is, because everything in-between is just filler. Unlikable and unreasonable characters, unrelatable foods, annoying manipulation, terrible pacing/direction, it's all a mess that I could see work much better, under someone else's direction. As for this garbage, it's a score of '1', for being a miserable experience to endure.

how to make cooking homoerotic 101 wow. imagine someone asking how you met your husband and you have to tell them that the guy was fascinated because you heated cutlery up to 55 degrees and make napolitan and the napolitan became a running thing for like 3 episodes HAHAHAHAHA just browsing for something to watch and this caught my eye because i love cooking animes and i was expecting something like food wars but what i got was… well! it was certainly something! the main character pmo so bad and i honestly think the use of maths here is HILARIOUS LMAOOO none of it makes literally any senseat all and i love that they think everything can be explained perfectly by the most basic quadratic graphs ever. this is literally the equivalent of someone hacking in a movie with a green screen of binary numbers in the background and typing in things like ‘remove security’ and bam! we’re in the mainframe! it is only the first season though so hopefully the next season has a little more character development for the m/c because even if the maths is bad this anime is still incredibly entertaining with how bad it is in some places and honestly the food looks GREAT !!
