To be frank I don't like it, I don't like it at all... In what seems to be becoming a trend with sunrise, instead of taking their time to tell a story, they throw together a couple of scenes, with characters we don't know and have no investment in to subpar animation and a couple of mediocre action scenes. The G40 clip reel did something almost identical. I only recognized most of the clips because I've seen the original series. It is not like ONA's can't work. We haven't had a great one yet but I feel that is because the format is new and nobody isready to throw some serious money to increase the production values. I am not hating on this show because its Gundam but because I know Sunrise can make a good mecha show with interesting characters, great action and stunning animation. When Youtube is showing you up with a generic product like Obsolete you know its time to change direction as a company. There isn't enough to this "show" to give you any feedback about the story, characters, sound or anything else. Just a rushed cobbled together mess. You can call this a special all you want but that doesn't change the fact this is not worth the time it takes to watch. The premise seemed interesting. I can only hope they come back to it with better production values and a full Gundam 52+ episode space opera, you know the way this series originally made a name for itself.
