Boku wa Imouto ni Koi wo Suru

Im not sure much is to be said about this story. To be honest it was a bit generic. "Sweet innocent lil sister or in this case twin sister, he loves her, he struggles with it, she comes to realize it. Oh but what about Kami-sama! They get over it..screw the gods, make out, the end." Not to say its not a cute story and the art was pleasent to the eye. The music was also cute ,but theres wasn't much to it. Its pretty short so i guess that shouldve been my first clue not expect too much. Check it out on youtube ifu like but, its not worth much more than that.

Boku wa Imouto ni Koi wo Suru This is a great film, although it plays only in 50 minutes, but the satisfaction is there, despite of the title " we all know i love my younger sister" is not acceptable but when u are there watching, there u can say on that spot i will give consideration for yori and iku..... this is not really a disgusting film that "twin brother and sister are havings ex with each other" but here u can feel what love is, and what love is all about i wish, they will release another episode of this film, iwant to know how they will react in the outside, how they will hold on.... will they find peace in teh storm, or they will cast away..... this is my REVIEW 10.... because they deserve it, this is my judgement and this will be my last... ^_^

There's a reason incestual relationships are rarely taken seriously in anime. It's a hard subject to portray with sincerity, and if not handled properly can be the source of contention among the viewership. Boku wa Imouto runs into that exact problem doing a poor job of selling it's authenticity and even worse of providing the viewer with any meaningful takeaway from the topic as a whole in society. The characters, to put it bluntly, are awful. Yori is a moody brat with rapist tendencies who repeatedly forces himself onto the person he claims to love most of all. Iku has no will of her own,given no personality type outside of jealousy and clinginess. We are never made to like the characters, and are merely swept along in their rapidly developing obsession. Boku wa Imouto also fails to provide the proper exposition for Yori's overwhelming desire for his sister. A childhood promise where he pinky swears to marry her isn't enough of a convincing argument. How he can go from vehemently rejecting her existence to suddenly forcing himself on her is unrealistic, even for anime. The climax in all stories of this nature is the moment they are found out - whether by society or a mutual friend who walks in on them. Boku wa Imouto's version of this are inanimate statues in a church who Iku assumes means God hates her. None of their friends raise enough suspicion to threaten the relationship. One classmate ogles Iku, makes a rude joke about her, gets beat down by Yori, and then questions how close they are as if a brother doesn't naturally respond to his sister being made fun of. This isn't how you create tension. Koi Kaze is a top comparison for this anime on MAL, which is akin to comparing Mars of Destruction to Neon Genesis Evangelion. Koi Kaze goes into so much greater depth, with much better sincerity shown from its characters and a far better resolution that you can never forget. Its disrespectful to even compare the two - THAT is how this type of subject matter should be handled. It feels as though this was made only to show the result of incestual relationships, rather than the actual process, which is the most important aspect in making a good story of this nature.
