When I look for anime, I always look through the romance section, and this show did not fail. The drawing in this story left much to be edited and a lot of their movements seemed superficial. Other than that the plot is pretty basic, but something about the story just made it unreasonably good. The ending, I think, was what made the series really good. Personally I wouldn't watch this anime for it's action, more for it's romance and personal affairs between the characters. For now, I will have to divide my rating into three categories. -Action animation: 6/10 (Nice effort) -Drama/Romance: 9/10 (a little cliche) -Everything else: 7/10(There wasn't much creativity)

Soul link is a simple sci-fi, action thriller with a hint of drama. It's not a show that can please you but it can amuse you a bit. It's perfect for time killing just like playing shougi, checkers, and the like. *WARNING* - only watch it when you have nothing else to do. It has a story, but it's pretty much not interesting. The way it was presented gives you a feeling of curiosity at times so as to give you a bit of patience and interest to finish watching the series. It also has a bit of fanservice to tease affected viewers. The art is the onlyaspect it can be proud of because everything looked alright and the characters look good. This is an anime you'd only watch for good looks. The sounds were fine. It has a decent OP song, the voices are good, the ambience is good, everything is ok. Nothing to complain about except maybe the ED song and nothing to be proud of as well. The lowest point of this show are the characters. I would say that the cast is poor, but some were kind of satisfactory to some point. So, I'll say that the characters are enough to be decent. Soul Link is nothing really enjoyable, but it's able to pull off somehow with some twists and turns, and a bit of service. Kills your time like a simple game of chess with a friend.

I'm sorry! This review as a warning will NOT be helpful to you, but I did want to add in simple terms what you may find in this empty hole of a show. I tried watching the first episode, I can sit through almost anything but this was so pointless I canceled it half way through viewing. How am I writing a review only half way through the first show? 1- No matter what, you'll see the quality of the art. It stunk, the animation of the smoke leaving the jet / space shuttle thing didn't even line up right, and the coloring wasbland at best. 2- Story, the story... oh my lord! I couldn't find one! I even looked where the main character likes to end up all the time! The main plot is his pointless love encounters that make no sense to begin with. Not to mention how awful further on in the series is, yeah, I peeked. You tend to do that when you don't want to watch it all. 3- Characters: Non original, and without any kind of natural personality. We start out meeting a girl who finds it necessary to walk around and wander off when she is already late for some meeting. She arrived with someone who didn't even go to the same... space ship with her, and as soon as we finally start to advance in some story and less frantic "talking" she decides to ditch this guy. Overall, just... don't watch this. Somehow, you'll regret it.

Soul Link is an obscure adaptation of an eroge made in 2006, with barely any reviews written and none written in the last 15 years. One of my favorite things is watching obscure anime and writing comments/reviews for it, because there's hardly any discussion to be found with these kinds of anime for the most part. Anyway, the story is about a group of teenage military cadets fighting against a terrorist group on a spaceship in Earth's orbit, if you've ever seen Die Hard it's kind of similar, but instead of one guy fighting the terrorists its a group. Now, the story itself actually isn't toobad, and I'd bet the VN is pretty good with some solid routes, but I wasn't a big fan of the pacing. It starts off pretty slow, and by the time it really starts picking up, there's only a few episodes left and everything gets wrapped up pretty quick and unceremoniously, honestly. The animation? Laughable, it's awful, even for 2006 standards. VA work is hit or miss, mostly missing, with a couple decent performances. Music isn't anything good or special either. The best part of this anime are the ecchi scenes, which are solid. The characters themselves are pretty forgettable, and aren't helped with the bad VA work for the most part. Overall, is this anime worth your time? Probably not. There's plenty of obscure anime out there that's better than this. It's not the worst anime I've ever seen, but there really isn't even a single quality I could single out and recommend it for, so I'd say skip this one, play the VN if anything.
