If I wasnt already using Windows 7, after watching this commercial I would have gone and bought it (and by that I mean illegally download it) Surely, if this piece of anime can slightly boost Win7 sales from the otaku market by even 1% im sure production costs of this commerical and Mizuki Nana's and Namikawa Daisuke paycheckes would be covered. Madobe Nanami also says goodbye to the old and busted heterochromia eye style and introduces the new hotness quad-colored eye style, which by the way I now expect to see in animes a lot more often, because once you look into her eyes, youwill shall be unable to return to plain old single colored eyes. So with this new move which once again makes me question the kind of powerful drugs the Japanese marketing teams use in their staff meetings, I now challenge apple to step up to the plate and deliver something more outrageous than the already overplayed Mac vs PC ads, oh and Linux...when am I getting my battle anime with that motherfucking penguin!?

This is why Microsoft has a marketing dominance in Japan over Apple. Additionally, this is probably one the best PC advertisements that I have seen in my life. Screw iPod advertisements, bishoujo always gets the customers.

Making an animation promotion video of nanami for windows 7 is just a wonderful idea. First animation commercial for Microsoft, and it is well made too! I've already seen her on the wallpapers I've found on the net, and now I just saw her on a video. So for this most unique animation commercial I would give it overall a 8. ---Story has to be "1", because there is no story. Art is normal, pretty good how they did make that animation of building a computer together. And Nanami was also pretty cute in the animation. ^ω^ Sound is just normal, not good or bad. Character, well Nanami is THE cute character of this promotion video for win7. And in this case, there's no need for character development rating of course, so that putting aside. Enjoyment, I found it pretty funny, and it's the first time I've seen this, so with all this points together I'll give it a "8". So my opinion and rating for this video is actually based from its unique-ness of this video.

This short, short OVA is about –– you guessed it –– Windows 7. The cutesy character design & animation is by Yamaguchi Satoshi who also worked on Strike Witches. For some reason, though, the sequence at the beginning makes me think more about Moetan, minus the ecchiness. It seems like Bill Gates has decided to target the otaku. And what better demographic to market your newest operating system to than those who spend most of their time watching anime and/or playing dating sim games? The star of this commercial is Madobe Nanami, voiced by Mizuki Nana who most of us recognize as the voice actress behind FateTestarossa from the Nanoha series. Madobe means “by the window,” while Nana means “seven.” This OS-tan is much slimmer and less bustier than her RAM-heavy, older sister Vista. She also has four colors in her eyes, reminiscent of the iconic Windows logo. I thought her eyes were creepy at first, but they are cute once you get accustomed to it. The commercial is only 60 seconds long, so there isn’t room for much plot here, aside from Madobe quickly (and I mean quickly) guiding us through some of the features of Windows 7. If there’s anything you’ll learn, it’s what parts you’ll need in order to build your own PC and how to say “DVD” in Japanese. Despite Madobe’s cuteness (as an owner of Windows 7, I know I’ve become a fan), there is nothing epic about this commercial, and it's borderline generic. But I guess there are worst ways you could spend that one minute…such as watching food infomercials on TV.

To be honest, I only just watched for the heck of it. Yes, we know what the features of Windows 7 are. BranchCache, AppLocker, BitLocker to Go, parallel driver execution, lighter code base, better IPv6 support, better offline image servicing tools, better update mechanisms and the list goes on. Nana-chan just made it better by being the Windows 7 mascot. To be honest, this commercial really has no point to me, but to others it might entice them to buy their copy of Windows 7 already one way or the other. If anyone asks, I do legally own a copy of Windows 7 because Microsoft gave itto me for free at some promotion they were running for system builders. And yes, I own Windows Server 2008 R2 too to take advantage of BranchCache and policy based AppLocker.
