During his time at Hope's Peak Academy, his title was Ultimate Student Council President. The successor to his title is Soshun Murasame. Kyosuke's posture suggests a commanding disposition, and he is stated to be cold. He is also stated to show great anger towards Ultimate Despair, and is one of those in favor in their extermination. It is said that, at one point, he was seen as incredibly charismatic, which is demonstrated in Juzo Sakakura and Chisa Yukizome's unquestionable loyalty to him. Because of his reserves of charisma, he has a strong influence on the two of them—apparently enough for them to sacrifice, humiliate, or shame themselves in order to carry out his orders. Munakata is manipulated by Kazuo Tengan into believing every participant in the final killing game was tainted by despair. After a final confrontation with Makoto Naegi, Munakata learns the truth of Tengan's manipulation. Munakata is one of the 5 survivors of the final killing game.
