Despite Kotono insisting he is merely her foster father, he thinks of himself as her real father. Also, he becomes a care taker for Yuan. He likes to bake cakes and in each episode, Joshua bakes a cake for the girl. He is a friend of Artista and Koushirou Kuroki since school. Later on, it was revealed that he has an older brother called Ash.
