She is much brighter than Shu and Pilaf who are mainly comic relief characters while Mai is not, but she is always incompetent at her mission. She mainly appears in the Emperor Pilaf, Red Ribbon Army, Fortuneteller Baba, King Piccolo and Piccolo Junior Sagas of Dragon Balls, but returns for 2 episodes in Dragon Ball GT. She is also a lot older in the GT series.
