She is on good terms with Fumi as the club is rather small; they are seen together reading books and having tea as part of the club's activities. She is a close school friend of Sugimoto Yasuko and is very aware of her popularity, often making fun of Yasuko being "Mr. Matsuoka-sama". She is seen to be very exasperated at Yasuko's presence in the club, as potential members usually leave to follow Yasuko in the basketball club.
