The few survivors were recruited as battle fodder in the Imperial forces; Geobaldi has risen to the rank of commander of his forces. After testing Tetsuya's courage in a duel, he is impressed enough with him to turn against the empire. He is killed during the final attack on the imperial palace, but returns as a spirit in the story's epilogue.
