Formerly known as Matsukichi Gai, he was a police officer who quit the force to start his own detective agency. He uses unorthodox methods to solve mysteries and crimes, afraid of cats, has horrible body odor and athlete's foot, and is struggling financially. A lot of Gai's actions cannot be taken seriously, but he is quite amusing.
