Gaspard "Garofoli"

Gaspard forced the homeless children to work and used the money that he collected from them for his own purposes. When he learned that Remi belongs to the wealthy Milligan family, he kidnapped the 10-year old girl and tried to get a 10,000-franc ransom from Mrs. Milligan. In the end, Gaspard failed to get the ransom money that he desires. He and the two other men involved in Remi's kidnapping were arrested by the Paris policemen. Remi and the rest of the homeless children abused by Gaspard were hence freed from cruelty.
