If you've finished Space Brothers and are looking for more, this short might look appealing to you. While it certainly wasn't bad, there were large portions of recap, and the new parts didn't add anything substantive to the series. The main cast (including Hikari) aren't developed at all during the movie, and nothing significant happens that you wouldn't have already seen in the main series. Unfortunately, this isn't a good primer for those who are curious about Space Brothers either, as the ending recap spoils some events in the TV series, and the odd combination of real images and CGI with 2D animation may mislead newviewers. In short, if you're desperate for some additional Space Brothers goodness this could be a decent time passer, but otherwise there's nothing to see here.

Story - 10 | Art - 10 | Characters - 10 | Enjoyment - 10 | Overall - 10/10 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Review - Space Brothers: A Point of Light is a special 40 minute anime original episode rendered for planetarium screenings. This was an absolutely phenomenal piece of media. For fans of the Space Brothers series, there is something so inspiring and on brand about having a special episode rendered for planetariums especially since the series itself is so closely tied to space exploration and planetariums by their nature are a place for people to engage with the space sciences. While this episode was relatively light in theway of substance, I nonetheless posit that it was an enjoyable experience. I mean seriously, how many anime have had the chance to be rendered in planetarium format? This episode as a whole felt like a wonderful homage to space media and all I could think about after watching it was that this episode must've been amazing to watch in the planetarium with the surround sound and the dome up above. 10/10. Absolutely wonderful. No notes.
