As a person who read the (web) manga afterwards, I feel like it's my duty to criticize a few points in this anime. While it is one of my all time favorites, and the adaptation is impeccable, I have a few points to make. [THERE MIGHT BE SPOILERS FOR THE WEB MANGA but they were supposed to be in the anime so they're pretty minor] STORY - 9/10 It was enjoyable. Yes, it focused more on LE PLOT, but meh, it was still pretty funny. They adapted the web comic pretty well and actually added its own fun nuances and references, like the bit that mimics and parodiesJJBA. One thing I'm not pleased with is the fact that the anime cut out an entire part that should have been present in episodes 24-26. I'll get to that in the character part. ART - 8/10 From what I know, the budget here was sliiiiiightly lower, but it's still good. It's colorful like the original, I wish it wasn't so saturated, because it was a bit much at times. It fit though, so I'm not complaining. CHARACTER - 8/10 The characters are a delight. I'd give this a full ten if they didn't cut out two characters. One's not so important but the other one IS, and it sucks. If they're ever planning on adapting volume 2, they're going to have to go back and animate that part. [SLIGHT SPOILERS AHEAD, VAGUE BUT MIGHT WANT TO SKIP THE REST OF THIS PARAGRAPH] I'm talking about Neun (more commonly spelled as Noin bc of fan error) September and August. The latter, as I said, isn't as important but Neun takes center stage in the very beginning of volume 2. His introduction, I'd say, is FAIRLY IMPORTANT. This is also a very biased part of the review, lol. He's my favorite, so I'm pretty butthurt. Enjoyment - 10/10 Overall, Senyuu may be short, but it's worth every second. It's a well adapted anime that is hilarious and easily recognizable, and it's fun to read the source material afterwards. Definitely recommend.

Senyuu 2 was the sequel of Senyuu, which was a very unique short which is mostly focused on mocking other shounens and the general fantasy setting as a whole. The season 2 somewhat deviated from the 1st as it tried to focus a bit more on story and as a matter of fact that sacrificed some of the wacky humor that the show had in the first season. It also introduces a bunch of new characters who might not be as fun as the old ones as a whole but some of them truly are very funny. Story It still follows the hero Alba in his epic(?)journey for peace, but this time he is estranged from the Royal soldier Ross as the initial group gets separated. And the eventually has to face many new obstacles and villains to finally be reunited. What this season does is focus on the story a bit more occasionally sacrificing the gag anime like humor, specially the stuff like mocking other animes bit was almost absent from this season. And at times I had to ask the same question as the narrator does, "Where are all the jokes?'' In the end it still had its funny and really enjoyable moments and turns out quite fun for its short duration, but it does lack in this regard compared to the last season, so gets 7 out of 10. Characters While Alba, Ruki, Rudlof, Hime and the masochistic cat are really as fun as ever, some other old characters like Ross really went in a sad direction as they almost lost their defining characteristics due to the plot line. Among the new characters Samejima was really awesome with his manly man attitude, but the rest of the new ones really lack the flavor or uniqueness of the old ones, so this was also a step back. It gets 6.5 out of 10 for the disappointments. Art/Animation The change in art to convey the humor was almost like the first season, although it really was noticeable less this season due to the focus shifting from the wacky humor a bit. Sadly the varying opening sequences which I liked quite a lot from the last season is missing and that fact was quite sad. It gets 6 out of 10. Sound The show received the most improvement in this regard which was quite odd actually. While the in-show was not anything special, the opening "Canary" by Granrodeo was very good and the ending punky and wacky "QUESTERS!" by Alba (Hiro Shimono) was really something that the show really needed as music from the start (just check-out the lyrics if you don't believe). This gets 8 out of 10. This season was definitely a step back from the last one, and specially the cliffhanger ending really was quite annoying as there is no news of a 3rd season anywhere and even the mangas are not completely translated. But the whole season was a very short watch, still had some amazingly funny moments and was never quite boring despite its lacking. Overall Score - 6.5 out of 10.

Story: (9/10) We were left off in that horrible cliff hanger in Senyuu and now we go right back on to the story! Senyuu 2 given us with a more serious plot and tone then the first one and even contains death that the narrator himself can't contain his surprise and fear. No seriously though, it is still a comedy and should be taken as a comedy with 15 seconds of serious time that is ruined by their golden comedy. In Senyuu we were left off with Alba still in prison with our Cinderella of love, Rudolph. The castle head maid, Ares. The princess, Hime and the blonde one,FoyFoy. While Ross was transported into a dimensional rift where Rchimedes, the first demon king, was sealed using Januar's power with Ruki, our cutie demon. Michelajul, a masochistic cat. The over 100 year old witch, Februar Zwei and Januar himself with surprising guest, a hot headed red haired shounen hero. This is the story of how Alba and Ross are separated and how they try to get to each other again but was forced to face the harsh reality of a plot twist. I am making this a lot serious than it really is and I really shouldn't because it is a freaking comedy. Characters: (9/10) A lot better than the first one, they are still what they are but Alba and Ross are not together in this so we were able to see their reaction to other characters and yes, we are given some character development here. Art: (8/10) Pretty, clean, crisp as always Sound: (9/10) Once again like in my last review, go to youtube and search for Senyuu 2 opening if you haven't seen it because it is hilarious, especially if you already watched the whole series. Exaggerated anime scenes with really awesome music. An ending with the voice of our hero, Alba. Also because it is a lot more serious, their soundtrack improved a little bit. Overall: (9/10) Hilarious and easy to watch because of its short length. Worth trying to watch.

I can't wait 30 years for the next part! ( You'll understand if you watch it ). Afterall this i one of my favourites, The MC is a sadist, he's OP he's badass and funny. What's better than that? The Story is amazing, it takes you inside their world, especially that plot twist near the end ( What plot twist you ask? Watch it and you'll know.) The artwork and the soundtracks are also great, i truly loved ( i doubt that they will be uoto the standard in 2150 but they'll definitely work till 2069 ). The characters and their development is also amazing, you've probably watched its prequel (which you should before watching this) so you'll understand what I'm talking about. This favourite of mine is definitely worth a watch and let me tell there is no way you'll be disappointed ( unless you watch in upside-down, at 072 pix with no audio 10m away from the mobile screen ). Even your old grumpy stubborn neighbor will laugh after watching this

I have no idea why I enjoy this show so much. I watched the first season and thought it hilarious, and here I am again, back for the ride. Why is it so appealing, I will never be able to figure it out. There's just something ineffably charming about it that steals my heart. First of all, unlike most short anime, there is an actual storyline. That in and of itself makes it so much better than other short series that just serve as quick gags that barely span a minute or two. In addition, there is actual characterization and vague relationships portrayed between thecharacters, which I really appreciate. There is art quality, surprising as it may be. It is simple and nothing amazing, but it is colorful, distinctive, and adds to the comedy, which is pretty refreshing. The sound is nothing too special, but the ending themes are generic and fun to say the least. Lastly, the characters are what I enjoy most. Ros is obviously my favorite (I have a think for sassy dark haired sadistic jerks, lol) but it was hard to dislike any character because they're all so fun and entertaining. I loved this so much! I'm eagerly waiting for that third season :D I would recommend this if you: like gag anime, like short shows, like 'plot twists', like 'mc abuse', like randomness, liked the first season I would NOT recommend this if you: wanted a serious plot or are extremely sensitive to pedophile jokes If you want a more serious version of this, I would recommend Akatsuki No Yona, which takes place in a similar time period about a princess journeying to collect warriors to take back her kingdom. It's one of my favorites and it has a similar feel to Senyuu. Have a great day everyone!
