The emergence of the dimensional tunnel sets the background for a new space era in which space travelling can be designated to planets outside the solar system. Hoshiwatari Goro is a space traveller who goes in search for his father whose whereabouts are shrouded with obscurity. His only link to his father is an old photograph. In order to attain his goal, Goro participates in a young space travelling company known as "YAT" which organises tours to different planets. However, in the midst of his journey, he was involved in an accident which resulted in the destruction of the spaceship. The series follows Goro Hoshiwatari, who begins working for a space travel company and sets out on a journey to find his missing father. The story unfolds almost like an anthology, as he travels to different planets on various tours, getting into all kinds of mishaps with the locals, the passengers, and the people from Cosmo Road and the Sharekobeck. It’s a show filled with both humor and emotional moments. Because it originally aired on Japan’s national public broadcaster, it’s something you can comfortably watch with children. Toward the end, the plot becomes more complex with the introduction of dimensional tunnels, making it highly engaging—even for adults whocan’t help wanting to see what happens next. The series emphasizes the bonds between friends and, especially in the latter part, the importance of family. Personally, I thought the ending was truly wonderful. In the second season, the crew leaves Earth under the pretense of going to pick up Katsura (the heroine), so no passengers appear at all. Rather than space tourism, it feels more like traveling from planet to planet to take care of various tasks. Since most of the story centers on their ongoing clashes with the evil Emperor Ganon and his henchmen, some viewers may find it a bit monotonous. Personally, I’d rate the first season around a 4.3, and the second season around a 2.2.
