First things first, I would definitely recommend not watching this unless you are a die-hard fan of Inazuma Eleven or any of the select characters in this short film. I essentially only watched it for Desarm (you can guess why) and I almost regret it. For something that's been hyped up for about a year, virtually no attention to plot, characters, or new story went into this "movie". Very little went into the characters beyond the basics of their personalities (Endou and Tenma being cheery, Kidou and Shindou's calculating personalities, Fudou being.... Fudou.) and there is absolutely no explanation as to what's transpired prior to theevents of this short film. The art and animation is very average for Inazuma, which was highly disappointing after what Go Galaxy had to offer us. The opening sequence is completely reused from the first season back in 2008, and compared to recent OP installments of the series, its age shows. Very few of the characters shown in the opening are in this short film at all, so it feels highly confusing and out of place. Sound is very good, all the voice actors did great jobs with their characters, and (as expected) several BGM tracks were reused from prior seasons, but said BGM is pleasant enough to listen to, so there isn't much of a problem to be had. Character portrayal is.... shoddy. Here we have several kids from ten years in the future, several other kids from around 200 years in the future, a few aliens, and absolutely no explanation as to how or why any of them got here. The characters in this film were picked from several popularity polls in Japan a while back, and it definitely shows most of the characters are there to simply exist. As for enjoyment.... It was fun to see all these characters come together, Desarm, Bitway, Shindou, and Kageyama are my four favourite characters from throughout the series, but I'm sorely disappointed that not much thought went into the plot or presentation of this at all. Overall, this was very rushed and sloppily put together, I understand perfectly well that this series in general is targeted towards Japanese children, but even placing myself into the young mindset of a little Japanese child I would've found this short film to be a real letdown.

If you are a fan of the Inazuma Eleven series you may or may not enjoy this. This "movie" was very hyped up from before it's release as it had fans of the series vote on who they wanted to be members of the team Inazuma Best Eleven and their opponent Inazuma Battle Eleven. Considering the actual match starts about 30 minutes into the movie (more than half of it) there isn't really any point in watching the first 30 minutes since it pretty much has no significance to it. The actual match itself seems... lacking. I found nothing special or new about it that I could notfind from the TV series, the animation even looks the same which is odd considering the previous movies had noticeably better animation. For a movie celebrating the series 5th anniversary this movie was pretty sloppily put together and it does not represent the series very well.

This is horrendous. I cannot explain how bad this was. Ugh, let's start. Inazuma Eleven is a series about fantasy soccer. Now to celebrate its 5th anniversary, we have Dream Match but it destroyed my dreams. The start is unexplained to the least. Why is Tenma and co. there? How? Even you are a Inazuma fan, you can't help think. The writing is absolutely bad. Its story is not even a story, we are just watching a soccer game. Characters are terribly written. Lazy animation makes their emotions horribly portrayed. Even the attitudes and personality of the main characters are bland. I can't describe how horrible the animationof the game. It does not have fluidity and it seemed like it was animated by an amateur. The choreography of the game is bad. Music just carries the movie. This movie gave me a negative experience like no other. It does try to do anything. God I wish I just have another Inazuma Eleven series.

The 4 current reviews do this short movie really dirty, If anything this short movie is a fan service meaning you get to enjoy characters from both universes battling it out together (to be specific most of the popular characters) sure storywise it doesn't really bring anything to the table, its just a "dream match" as the title suggests but in the end its about your favorate characters and their hissatsue techniques and if you ask me this short movie did not disappoint, we got to enjoy some of our favorite shots in combination with our favorite players both split up into the OG raimonand Royal People really should appreciate the match for what it is rather then not liking it since storywise it doesn't bring anything to the table

You should only watch this if you're a hard-core fan of IE or any of its characters. Maybe even then you'll regret it. The review might contain a few spoilers so read at your own risk. Story: (2) Arguably the worst aspect of the 'movie', which itself is barely 20 minutes long. There's no proper plot and the match is also terribly boring. Art: (4) The art is average and the animation is awful for its standard, after what GO, CS and Galaxy had to offer. The openings and endings are re-used from the previous installments.Sound: (6) The background music was good, the openings were still pleasant to listen to and the VAs did a pretty decent job. Characters: (3) Characters are gathered from various time-lines and there's no explanation how. Even the characters seem to find it pretty normal. The characters are just dull and, at times, lame. One thing's for sure, Fubuki will be very happy he didn't make an appearance here. Enjoyment: (4) There's not much to enjoy here except for the slight thrill you might get seeing all your favorite characters playing together. Overall: (4) Inazuma Eleven: Chou Jigen Dream Match was utterly disappointing. Horrible story-line, character portrayal, art and animation marked a lazy attempt by Level-5 to create a match that every fan wants but not the one he/she deserves.
