Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions!: Heart Throb - The Rikka Wars
中二病でも恋がしたい!戀 再生の・・・邪王真眼黙示録(The Rikka Wars)
One normal school day, Rikka Takanashi notices Makoto Isshiki secretly passing a flash drive to Yuuta Togashi. Curious, Rikka talks to her friends about the case, who agree that Yuuta is hiding something from her. They decide to discover the contents of the flash drive by any means necessary, but to their surprise, it merely contained pictures of an idol that Yuuta adored back in middle school. However, Rikka takes offense, as she claims that this breaks their contract as lovers and demands Yuuta to return the flash drive. Although having seen Yuuta return the flash drive, she still felt uncertain about the situation. This leads to her sneaking into Yuuta's room during the night, only to find out that the flash drive had not been returned! Scanning through its contents, she hurriedly rushes to bed when Yuuta enters her room. To her terror, she finds the flash drive crushed due to her negligence in keeping it in a safe place. Yuuta quickly finds out and demands an apology. However, Rikka too, demands an apology from him, resulting in both of them refusing to be the one to apologize first. Will the two lovebirds be able to resolve their argument? [Written by MAL Rewrite]

I very much liked S1 and S2. I don't know how they managed to make Yutta and Rikka genuinely unlikeable and dispicable characters in this episode. This series was so nice until this episode. Right off the bat, the girls are suspicious of Yutta in a way that would be considered extremely toxic for a relationship. Yutta then when found out stubbornly sticks to his coomer brained nonsense. It was just embarassing and this made me dislike both characters. I have no idea why people like this episode at all but hate s2. It makes no sense. Maybe constantly drama, and toxic mistrust is so common intoday's relationships that people accept this as normal behaviour and find it relatable. I'm gonna just pretend I didn't watch this before I watch the movies.

The Rikka Wars is a short and light-hearted little side-story happening as continuation of the last season of the anime. Considering how only one episode doesn't really contain a whole lot of content, I will try to keep this review rather concise. The story isn't really anything too interesting, though it managed to keep my attention. It has some progression throughout this single episode and the ending is satisfying enough. The art is still as impressive as it was in the previous iterations. Similarly the soundtrack still lacks something memorable. The characters are basically the same as you would expect them to be, which is a good thingin the case of a single episode. Overall you will enjoy this if you enjoyed any previous iteration of Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!, considering nothing has really changed. Don't expect anything too crazy, but if you were craving for more, here you have it.

I never liked the Chuunibyou series. I tried watching the first season but dropped it in 4 episodes out of sheer boredom. I will never watch another full episode of Chuunibyou but for this exception, I grant it a solid 9/10. One of the reasons I didn't enjoy Chuunibyou was because I couldn't sit through the 'fantasy action' scenes and I still skipped over the one in this episode. However, the story, cliched as it may seem to some, turns out sweet with good pacing and somewhat enticing dialogue. I don't even know why I enjoyed the dialogue, but it was whimsical and erratic enough tokeep me entertained. That goes for their actions too especially between Rikka/Yuuta. (Oh, the things this couple does) In a nutshell, being only one episode long, it is ideal for a quick, satisfying watch with a cast of rambunctious personalities to bring the simple plot to life.

Another extra episode to this series that slow everything down from the finale. Rikka and Yuuta put each other into a situation that causes them to fight. It's a great episode that helps see these two as an actual couple and not just two people brought together by chuunibyou. It shows that these two really care about their relationship and strive to trust one another to the fullest. The girls are there to help Rikka as she does not know what to do in the situation. She doesn't want to be mad at Yuuta but can't let what happen slip. The same thing goes forYuuta. It's just one of those fights that you see all the time in couples but to me it was refreshing to see happen to these two, given the strange relationship they have. It's entertaining, sweet and a good episode as a whole.

Look at this one! A special episode of Chuunibyou S2 On the first place, I thought it was just one of those specials where they fight using their powers, guess not. Well, this was a short continuation after S2. For me this episode just successfully filled up few portion of what was missing on S2 and yes it was the progress. The progress of their relationship moved quite a bit. The short fight between Rikka and Yuuta caused a progress basing on how the fight ended. It was cute though. This episode would relieve some of the hates of the S2 because this is where the progress began to emphasize. Overall 9/10 Such a cute episode The story is good. The art is good, sound is good. Characters are good. I enjoyed the episode as a whole. However, it still doesn't end here. We still need that season 3. Let's see what the studio wants to do with it.
