I'm a hugh AMG! fan, so I was really looking forward to this special. I have to say, I came away a bit disappointed. It was good but not really as great as I was hoping/expecting. The animation was nice (except for a when one of the fights degenerated into a series of still-shots), but the story seemed much too rushed. Given more time, this could have been expanded into an epic story arc to rival the "Lord of Terror" arc from the first season of the TV series, but instead we get a pale shadow of that drama. The characters were also, I think, short changed due to insufficient time to handle so many properly. Peorth for example could have just as easily been left out all together for as much impact as she had on the story (sorry Peorth fanboys!) and Urd was given little more. The handling of Skuld's subplot (if you can even call it that) was probably the most disappointing of all. The only one that recieved any real development was Lind, but even in her case I think she could have benefitted from a bit more time. So, while it still may be a "must-see" for AMG! fans, it just is not all that "special". (!__!)

The 20th anniversary special! Yay! And a rather good special at that! :) Story: What an amazing storyline/plot/etc.!!!!!! Nothing like this was in any of the seasons or specials or ovas before! Very unique and definitey well thought out. Score for AMG. Art: The art is as wonderful, if not better, as the tv series was. I do believe the colors are richer and of higher quality in this special though. Sound: Same as the art. It is just as amazing, if not more amazing, than the sound quality of the tv series. The background tracks also fit really well with the scenes.Character: Really no time to develop the characters, except for Lind. She is developed pretty good in a 2 episode special and you start to get a feel for who she really is. Enjoyment: Although moving slow at some parts, I completely enjoyed this. I could've done without the stupid little "comedy" bits here and there though :\ Overall: If you have seen anything to do with Ah! My Goddess; the first season, the movie, the ova, the specials, the second season, the manga, etc. I highly highly HIGHLY recommend taht you give this special a shot ;) I just have to warn you now that if you are expecting Belldandy and Keiichi to be more romantical and stuff that this will be a HUGE disappointment on your half.

I just ran across this OVA today. I recently started reading the AMG manga again, and did a little bit of scouting around on BakaBT and found this OVA. Okay let's start off with the story. I think the Story was quite enjoyable but little bit rushed. I think they could have dragged it on for maybe 1 more episode and covered more. Overall it was sufficient and didn't take away from the OVA at all. I certainly wouldn't tell people not to watch it because the story was rushed and it may leave you confused, because it doesn't, it coversenough, but more would have been great. As for the art, I'm never disappointed with the art from AMG, I'm always impressed with the details in the environment and the character designs. The goddesses ares always so beautiful :D The score was actually quite impressive to me, all of the music fit all of the scenes. As one of the other reviewers said, some of the characters had such little role in this ova that they could have been left out. I agree...to an extent but I do see why they were relevant to the story. I know peaorth(excuse me if I spelled that wrong lol) didn't say or do much but I see why they needed her to be in it. I wish it would have revolved around skuld more though. I really enjoyed this anime, and I will probably watch it again :P One thing I did not like.....towards the end, what could have turned into amazing fight scenes was reduced to still shots....that is quite depressing. I would certainly recommended this to ALL AMG fans and also to people who may not have seen AMG before :P

This action packed bookend to the AMG TV series sees a shift toward action in this two-part OVA. With the Valkyrie Lind playing a principal role as she fights to stop the plans of the Demon Queen Hild who's insidious plan to utilize the Angel-Eater demon to help corrupt the goddesses threatens all Keichi holds dear. It also sees Keichi take an active role in the fight when Lind recruits him to help her, giving Keichi a rare 'action boy' role in an ongoing story that often sees him sidelined due to his mortal limitations. Also a quick mention about Peorth coming back, I reallyenjoyed the Goddess/Angel tea-party the the OVA opens on, the Angels are always nice to see, this scene was pretty cute.

This is a short little addition to the Ah Megami franchise that sheds a bit more light on Lind, one of the strongest fighting-type angels, as she, along with Keiichi and the gang do their best to unravel the mystery of the angel-eater. It's a surprisingly focused story considering how random (at times) the previous seasons have been. As you can guess from the title, there's going to be a bit more action/ep than what you'd gotten in the past from Ah Megami. But don't worry as there's still plenty of humor/keiichi bashing that you've come to expect from the series. Overall this is a nice,if slightly cheesy, addition that fans will like. Animation: This is pretty much what you'd expect from the second season, maybe with a bit more action. The angel-eater itself is a bit... weird. The battles have nice effects though there's nothing really groundbreaking. Only one ecchi accident in the entire special. Sound: A new OP, slightly more intense than what we've heard in previous OPs in the series, is introduced here. Note that you might want to skip it at first as there are SIGNIFICANT spoilers in it. The ED is much calmer and more in line with what I expected from Ah Megami. The BGM is fairly supportive but nothing too memorable. VAs are the same so you can still expect stellar quality here. Story: I was surprised that they were able to continue elements from the second season, and advance the entire storyline, all in two episodes. The story is very focused and told at first in a mystery-ish format, sparkled with typical light humor from Skuld and Urd. The overall plot was fairly good though the finale was quite predictable; there is a bit too much of the love/good overpowers all aspect. Character: There is actually some decent development considering the short length, mostly with Skuld and Lind. General interactions seemed natural and in line with the previous two series. Only one question remains: when will anything happen between Keiichi and Belldandy?!? Value: For its length, this is a pretty easy, and reasonably engaging watch. It won't have any groundbreaking developments but suffices to please fans who want more of the franchise.
