Takumi no Shitamachi Kassen Following the end of the exhausting training camp, brothers Takumi and Isami Aldini spend their holiday sightseeing Tokyo Tower and its surroundings. While learning about the local culture and tasting various dishes, the two encounter Megumi Tadokoro, Ryouko Sakaki, and Yuuki Yoshino, who all happened to be touring the area as well. The group decides to have lunch together at a traditional Japanese restaurant—where an unexpected food duel is set to take place. Natsuyasumi no Erina Tootsuki students are hard at work experimenting with dishes for the Autumn Elections during the summer break; but for Erina Nakiri, her preparations for the event are already complete. Just as she dwells on what to do with her free time, she receives an invitation to the public pool from her cousin Alice. Despite her initial hesitation, Erina takes the opportunity to broaden her horizons and explore what this seemingly ordinary summer activity has to offer. Meanwhile, the members of the Polar Star Dormitory kick off a small party at a nearby lake to cool off and enjoy themselves before the Autumn Elections. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Recommended

After watch the first season of shokugeki no souma (Food Wars). I think the studio do not need do OVA for the first season because it do not show the spoiler for this anime. Altought, the first show a fighting cook between Aldini brother and Oyaji in the shop. It still, didnt take my interest more because it did'nt have fight cooking more.For the second episode, it show a background of Nakiri Alice . She and Nakiri Alice go to public pool in the summer. While, Souma and his friends go to some place and have shaved ice and BBQ. It show, tsundere part of Nikumi, altough she did'nt want to go with them, but she did it at the end.

I don't think Food Wars needed an ova since it didn't really explain much or anything, but it was fun to watch at least. Expect some of the same over the top reactions from the series and you'll enjoy this still. The first episode is just some of the characters going on a site seeing trip and trying some traditional Japanese food since most of them are not Japanese native. This leads to a decent food challenge towards the second half. The second episode has Alice and Erina going to a public pool on a hot day and the Polar star crewplus Mito hanging out near a lake, eating shaved ice, barbecuing, and such. The second episode was worth the watch just to see Erina and Alice in their swimsuits. The art is pretty consistent with what you expect the series have. The same goes for the sound. Like most ovas, it doesn't really add anything new to the character portion of the show, but it shouldn't make you learn to hate anyone either. I enjoyed watching these even though nothing important really happens. I wish Mito was in a swimsuit too, but oh well. Fans of Food Wars should enjoy this, but you might not if you didn't enjoy the show all that much.

Very tiny spoilers ahead. This OVA is non-essential to the plot, so unless you just want more Shokugeki you can just skip to the second season. Nonetheless, I highly recommend it, it's good fun and it does have a tiny bit of character development for some side characters like the Aldini brothers. Otherwise, the quality is the same as the first season in all other aspects, it's just that the story itself isn't in any way significant to the plot. It's a very interesting watch if you're interested in seeing more of the side characters of the show, since Souma himself barely appears in these two episodes (in thefirst one he only appears for a minute at the end).

This 2 OVAs deserve higher score. This time the MC is not Soma, but Aldini's brothers and Erina. Characters well-rounded, faithful to the series. I love Takumi, he is one of my favorite characters, and I love seeing his cooking with his brother. As italian, I think it's impossibile not liking Aldini's brothers. Honestly I want to see more of Takumi, seeing him cook and above all SPEAK ITALIAN is wonderful. I also loved Erina's ova, I like the development she is having. PS. Takumi seems in love with Soma😂 You will enjoy it cuz funny and good story as always.

Turns out the fat Aldini brother is a huge weeb. The first OVA gives us some more backstory and character development for the Aldini's in general. I like the two characters. I think it's funny how he wants desperately to be the shounen rival character but is clearly playing second Piccolo to Erina's Vegeta, and how his brother is just there to laugh at him. The dynamic changes a bit when he's not in fat mode and the show treats him like less of a joke, but none of that's on display here. The second episode is just your standard OVA fare with a water parkand all the female characters showing off their swimsuits. Not a whole lot of character development there. I'd rate it a 7/10, pretty average
