The Blue World, which symbolizes reason, is under constant attack by the creatures called the Nightfly O'Note originating from the Red World, symbolizing instinct. Akira Asagi, the 17-year-old protagonist who is a researcher at Blue World, is nominated to lead the war at Ryuukyuu LAG, a proud defense facility on the islands of Ishigaki and Iriomote. She meets the sixth combat unit "IS," which was formed four years after a fierce battle that annihilated the fifth unit. Akari must lead these six riders, also called the Scared Rider Xechs, to fight against the other world while at the same time deepening the relationship among them. (Source: MAL News)

I’m having extreme difficulty trying to put this review into words. The show is so appalling that I’m questioning if it really deserves a proper review. If you’re reading this and was curious about the very low score, then this may be the show for you if you’re a masochist that is. Here we go again, this is another one of those ‘try and save the world’ shows which has been overused to the point of oblivion. I’ve never understood why producers stick their faith in these type of shows when they are for the most part predictable. A group of male high-schoolers situated ina town called Ryugyu work for a secret organisation called LAG, which stands for Life after God. These audacious young men (referred to as Riders) have the ability to combine with supernatural creatures/beings called Substances that originate from the Red World. They undergo a fusion transformation with their respective Substance allocated to them via a process of inserting a plug into a headphone jack, that centres the palms of their left hands. After this, they somehow get cool looking bikes from the spaceship and fight enemy creatures called Nightfly O’Notes during surprise incursions with their combined abilities. The power rangers theme is strong in this one. The main plotline isn’t convoluted or anything but isn’t enticing enough for me to keep watching when it rehashes the same formula over and over again. The world-building was erected in a mediocre fashion by outlining that the Blue World is separated from the Red World which is the breeding ground for the so called enemies. After further revelations, it is known why the mysterious attacks take place and for me feels like a copout when it contradicts the main theme at hand. The characters are all bland and one-dimensional, with some of the more annoying characters such as Yosuke and Takuto being given their own segments to make us believe they underwent some characterisation, which is far from the case. The other members of the Riders are not worth mentioning as they are there to fill up the numbers. The Riders only participate as a group when it comes to the band as a means of strengthening team unity. Asagi Akira is the main focus of the very first episode after being saved in the transported container. She immediately is promoted to the operations director at the LAG base after being caught up in the accident. This anime makes you think it’s trying to be subtle in its approach but no its imbecilic methods won’t have an effect on me. Hako Sakura is another character that is directly linked to Asagi and is pretty stupid when it comes to privacy. Her role is found out by one of the Riders after careful observation. She links in with the explanation of the war between LAG and the Nightfly O’Notes and that is her only purpose. There is also that stereotypical villain Okazaki trying to make her moves in the shadows without being noticed. The art style is pretty generic and is a carbon copy of its source material which is its visual novel counterpart. Its these designs that make me question if the character designers put any more thought into this, as they all have similar body builds and proportions. For an otome game adaptation, all the guys would look attractive considering they have that bishounen design to cater to their respective audiences. I don’t find any major fault with but I feel like they could have experimented a bit more with their resources. The animation is also very average with certain episodes being messily drawn at times highlighting that the budget wasn’t good for the source material. The sound is the only thing that didn’t fail because if you look at its glorious voice actor cast, you will be surprised to see a few noticeable names which for me wasn’t enough. It’s unfortunate that they have to stain their record with such a miserable show that only should be recommended for its voice actors. It gets even worse people. The production committee somehow managed to grab the services of Abo Takeshi for the background music. This is the man who gave us great soundtracks for visual novels such as Steins Gate and Ever17. After this revelation, my opinion of the sound isn’t so bad after taking into the factors into account. To summarise this show is offensive for my intelligence and is a complete waste of time. I wish you good luck if you partake in watching this series.

STORY: They are Bandmates and best friends (Basically it's like a bond of a brotherhood). They are also the protectors of the earth! The Henshi & weapons reminds me of the Power Rangers. It is mysterious, intense, and contains a lot of THE FEELS! Plus, there is a lot of storylines involving Akira. CHARACTERS: • Akira - The team's commander. Young teenager, but very mature for her age. Intelligent. • Takuto - singer, writer, guitarist. • Yousuke - I ♥ Yousuke & Akira. Guitarist. • Hiro - Youngest member. Loves reading. Introvert. Drummer. • Kazuki - Weirdo - very flamboyant, unpredictable, passionate for music, gets the job done. Pianist/keyboard. •Yuuji - Bassist. Oldest member. Positive & generous. OVERALL: Theme song is pretty cool. It is sung by the main characters on the show! As I stated previously, there is a lot of action, interesting story lines, however; it is kind of complex. Each Rider has 2 different eye colors on each eye. & this anime also has its own video game that is available in Japan on Playstation 2.

What's good about this anime is that it's a sentai, but aimed at a female audience. Which puts off the 4/8channers because it's not aimed at them even thought they have a billion isekai, sentai slave women anime aimed at them. The female character isn't a doormat which puts off the rest of the channers and the otoge audience that likes the main girl to be abused harassed and basically have no agency. She's actually proactive and knows how to do her job and doesn't need men always saving her nor telling her what to do. All the guys are actually decent, thought Hijiri pushes it. The anime howevershows that it's an act. They don't treat Akira like garbage nor are they wanting to always peep on girls. Yuji does get into that situation and he quicky wants to nope out of it and not be a gross piece of shit like other otome will do with him. (Further putting off channers who think women are meat. It also has a bit of political intrigue going on as well as the "what are the Nightfly 'o Note" and the whole Red World, Blue World. It's not afraid of shooting people and killing, where other otome games pull their punches a lot. THe only drawback to this anime is that evil is represented by a sexy woman. It always happens. This only draws the anime down a little and the uniquness of the rest of the anime is it's shining achievement. There's really no other anime like this that's aimed at a female audience but also so full of action and sci-fi.

if you came here for romance just mentally throw that genre in the trash as there is absolutely no romance and was probably only given that tag because of the game the anime is base off of the rest of the review will cover everything else story 6 for the first 6 episodes the show feels more like a slice of life anime with moments that feel like they belong in a dramatic mecha anime sprinkled in and for some reason they forced in a band plot that really should of been cut there is also creatures that help the characters fight that really needed moreattention because the show really failed to fit them in the show the really everything for the first 6 episodes seem like a confused mismatched mess around episode 7 is were the series start mostly focusing on the dramatic mecha feeling plot which is the part i feel the studio was most familiar so it ended up feeling the least confusing and most competently done part of the anime if you like dramatic mecha anime you should get a decent amount of enjoyment in seeing things unfold sound 6 for the most part there really isn't much to note but there near the end it uses music in a similar way to a mecha anime to hype what happening up art 6 the art was decent and i noticed the show did a good job at switching between lighter colors during the slice of life parts and during the darker mecha parts things look darker to avoid having the color clash with the very different tones of the show and did a good bit of good it trying to blend things together characters 2 the only characters that can really be said to develop is a side character called sakura and and the main character they have a few dramatic scenes that are even if a bit generic i feel were poled off well enough as for all the other characters for the first chunk of the anime the only thing reverse harem thing in the anime is the male characters personality's which act how you expect male characters to act in a slice of life reverse harem anime the problem is it absolutely does not mess well with the second part of the anime that change the characters to what is expected from a dramatic mecha anime which while done much better makes it feels like there was no characterization done to set things up they feel like they were completely made to do what the animators needed in order to fit the cliches roles of both genres it just does not feel like the animators knew how to write it to make characters naturally fit whats being done so they didn't even try to overall 4 really the biggest problem is i don't think the studio knew how to blend the two parts so it just feels like a mismatched mess that feel more like two different anime and while i really did enjoy how the second half alot more if i rated this higher i feel i would be ignoring just how badly the characters were handled and how poorly the blend things together because i cant help but feel if they but the band part and maybe focused more like a action show it would atleast be less of a sad mess that i don't really think can please any group of anime fans
