Hello! This will be my first review, and I hope this helps! The crew from the Asobi Club is back to their antics with SO. MANY. REFERENCES. Not just references to pop culture, but also straight-up other anime as well! They had me laughing out loud through most of the short. If you loved the vanilla show you will love this as well. The OVA is split into two parts, and in total clocks in at around 13 minutes, which is a bit less than usual, but the content there is pretty quality. It isn't as crazy as some of the insane things from the vanillaseries, but there is enough here to leave you satisfied. Be sure to watch this after finishing the series though, since a lot of characters will be returning here. Particularly, there's a section with the Sensei which was just fantastic. Overall, a "REFERENCES GALORE" out of 10

Asobi Asobase OVA (2018) OVA for the show essentially a half episode. The first part is for the school festival and the second part is of a time jump scenario which was very interesting. This with the specials would make up another full episode of content. The art is the same in its full hilarity that is wonderful. The sound is excellent and the tracks are still mind-bogglingly amazing.Characters develop as much as they did previously. The first part has a great Evangelion reference and the second part is pretty cool with the inclusion of the teachers and such events, which was very much an ohhhh moment. Overall this is another equally enjoyable moments from the show.

Technically the last episode of Asobi Asobase, and it's as funny and endearing as you'd expect. This time we have only two stories; the first one follows how our main trio, once they got permission to show their film on the school festival, are planning on wearing some cosplays to it. It's full of dumb and silly references that go from Evalgelion to slashers with Hanako's costume, which in turn make this extra episode one of the most mid ones since nothing really happens with our protagonists, but is still entertaining to watch. The other plot centers more on Chisato, their teacher. It's about how herfriends and herself were back in school, creating this parallel with our main trio, and it's honestly pretty decent, since we didn't get a lot of screen time for Chisato on the anime to begin with. This episode is just as you might expect by now from Asobi Asobase, and it's (sadly) a fun and simple way to finish the anime since it didn't get another season. Let's hope we get a continuation in the future for one of the funniest animes around.

Story 9/10 + Short comedy sketches for plenty variety and laughter, slice of life, middle school, very accessible comedy subjects so everyone will snort/giggle/spit out no matter their background or culture. - No real story progression, sketches weren't as funny as the original series either unfortunately, but still fun enough, just not gut-wrenchingly hilarious. Art 10/10 + If the artwork itself doesn't convince you, it also uses nice textures and unique rough style for extra comedy relief. The drawing style changes at the perfect timing and is carefully selected and developed for the anime format, truly clever work and excellently worked out. - Bit more slacked offin comparison to the original series. Sound 10/10 + the voice acting is truly super, such a wide variety of sounds which usually would never make it into an anime which make for a, nice contrast in opening and ending theme song even though both aren't really my style it's a smart move and fits the series to a T. - Hanako's voice actress: please take care of your voice, you're brilliant so I wouldn't want you to suffer any consequences, even though I bow to your brilliant talent. Character 10/10 + A somehow loveable and hilarious trio of oddballs, new characters don't just vanish after the subplot has been concluded and show up again during segments in other short stories - No real deep dive or character development, whereas I did become a bit too curious for Aozora's development, though I will definitely check out the manga for that. Enjoyment 9/10 + This anime had me laughing. out. loud. in public the first time I watched it and even after the third rewatch I'm still snorting, crying and spitting out loud in amusement. A true masterpiece on all fronts. - Even though rewatching is still plenty enjoyable, I wish I could have the experience of watching this series for the first time again. ~ Overall of 9.6 and I don't know what else to say but to just watch this series as it's way too hilarious and good to pass up on. Everything (yes all weird aspects of it) work perfectly together which just shows how carefully it's been put together. Please make more of these types of series, it's even better than (dare I say it?) Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou or Lucky Star!
