Xingchen Bian

This anime is an adaptation of the novel "Stellar Transformation" by I Eat Tomatoes. And contrary to Swallowed star which doesn't follow the story, this one actually does. This novel is one of the traditional xianxia story, where the main objective of the MC in most of the novel will be to attain a higher cultivation and attain immortality. I'm mentionning it here because of another review but no, the story still has a purpose after the 1st season. That just shows how some people don't understand the point of the story, it has never been a story of Qin Yu and his father, but aboutQin Yu. Now for this season in particular. The plot mainly takes place in the Qin Empire and will follow the childhood of Qin Yu until he becomes a young man. It is mainly focused on him and his family and serves as an introduction to the story. The story itself is great, quite emotionnal. The fighting isn't the best i have seen but still great overall. I would give this story a good 9/10

This is a really good anime with its backstory stemming from the Qin dynasty which was China's first dynasty. This is a story that follows both fiction and non-fiction. Most of what was in the first season are historical events. However, there are some changes to fit the story of a mythic legend named Yu Qin. As the story progresses, Yu Qin becomes stronger and in season 2 meets a well-known Chinese legend, Sun Wu Kong. Well in the anime he wasn't named that but his weapon and looks are inspired by Sun Wu Kong. This has roots in Chinese epics such as Xi YouJi. I think that this anime is really good as a native speaker, however, there is a bit of loss in translation in English so I had to wholly watched it in Chinese. I do believe that this is a phenomenal Chinese anime that sees Yu Qin's growth as he seeks to become a god through his trials and tribulations. I do believe that this is anime is a 9/10 all around for me. Do give it a try.

It's first time for me make review sorry if its not good this anime was so great, i must write this because many of you maybe doubt to watch because maybe waste ur time, but i must tell u for me this anime is the best chinese anime chi gong/cultivation. Story is like how he grown to be strong like zero to hero, but i think that was not new but the strong point is about relationship with your family. Art is just okay, nothing special if you compared to most modern japan anime but for chinese anime its so good like how they put and mix onescene to another scene is smooth so you still can enjoy without confusing the plot. Sound is one of their strong point, chinese feel so great mix and match at every scene. Character just focus on MC and some of them not much exposed, not much romance or comedy because lack scene about MC and his friend he just advanture with his pet. Very enjoyment like you would be bring to chinese fantasy vibe with dragon and another myth animal, and how MC past and his effort to become strong for his family many lesson can you take. Overall was great and worth to watch for who like anime zero to hero with no harem just pure about how he can get strong step by step with back story especially the ending was so epic.

Nice art but immensely boring and with a softie naive MC who really gets on my nerves. Because of his naive reticence to kill, a lot of people get massacred, and someone close to him gets crippled, just so that his little empty head can connect the dots and then 10 years time skip and dude's going around working as an assassin. F... unbelievable, I bet that the writer's mouth still reeks of his mother's breast-milk. Also, the MC has such a dumbass face, and the way he moves his body and mouth when he speaks is like watching Jim Carrey playing dumb and dumber incultivation edition. I pushed myself through one season out of sheer masochistic willpower. I had planned to give it one more season of benefit of the doubt because of the good animation, but it's soooo bad that I have no masochism left to keep going. I give it a few stars just because it doesn't repeat the same formulaic structure of most power-fantasy cultivation (how dare you / power up / how dare you / power up, and so on, forever). And because of the art. The animation if hit or miss. They used the method of tracking real actors's movements (you can see it at the end of the last episode, where you will also realise why the characters move like if they were series-c actors. It's because they ARE series-c actors!). Other than that, it's so BORING that 5 min after finishing watching I already forgot half of the story. I can't recommend this to anybody whose maximum aspiration in life is not watching 240 min of lonely rich child playing with some pet bird while curing his xyz whatever chi blockade, and then training so that he can make his daddy proud again. Or if you don't care about the plot as long as the animation is good... Personally, I think it's the most boring first season (or let's say 12x 20 min, as seasons in donghua are wildly different) out of all cultivation donghua I've ever seen, and one of the most boring out of all the multi-seasons animation, any genre, any Country.
