Atrocious pacing—13 minutes per episode is way too short. The comedy isn’t funny at all; it’s downright cringe-worthy. The anime is full of illogical moments—characters appear out of nowhere, new power-ups are introduced without explanation, and plot armor runs rampant. Overall, it’s a complete disaster. The show introduces a character, builds them up as a major villain, and then defeats them in the very next episode. Character development is practically nonexistent—people switch sides far too easily. Everyone except the main character feels irrelevant. No one questions the protagonist’s absurd level of power; they just accept it without a second thought. And the main antagonist? By the end, hecontradicts himself so badly it’s embarrassing to watch. Skip this one, even if you enjoy power fantasy anime. Instead, check out The Daily Life of the Immortal King—a far better Chinese power fantasy series.

Story: I can say that this story so far is very basic. Where the anime is right now there isn't really too much going on that is very captivating. Which is unfortunate as the story does get a lot better the longer you read, and the more arcs go past. Especially the start of the anime, the story was very all over the place, with it being hard to get into at first. Art: Overall the art isn't anything special. Luckily it isn't bad at all, but that doesn't mean it lacks moments where you know that with better animation the whole anime would be better. However, the last fight scene really showed where they put all their work into as compared to all the other fights and scenes that had been shown thus far, it was far and away above the rest. And considering the situation, I am happy that is the case. Sound: There isn't really anything special about the sound choices of this anime, it is all pretty standard and nothing will surprise you but it does do its job and doesn't take anything away from the anime, while also not adding anything of much value, past the mere basics. Character: Some of the characters have a lot of personalities and unlike the normal emotionless MC, Lin Jie isn't like them, showing his emotions. The same with the side characters, they all have decent personalities but there isn't really any backstory, except for a few characters, but even that isn't fleshed out much, leaving them mostly bare bones. Enjoyment: If you like overpowered main character then you will love this anime. Lin Jie is as overpowered as they come, being the hero that appeared and was the strongest 5 years ago he is still the same person now, expect he is a lot stronger. This isn't some complex anime with a convoluted story that will draw you in but when portraying an overpowered main character it does a very good job of making it fun to watch. If that isn't the kind of anime you like I would avoid this as it contains nearly all these stereotypes, even though it does it well. Overall: I gave this anime overall a 7 as while most of it was mediocre, or above average, the genre and main character really boosted this as a whole and made it much more enjoyable to watch than one might think. This is coupled with the fact that I did read the manhua way before the anime was announced so I might hold some bias just because I am seeing scenes that I wished to see animated finally.

I start to think that chinese people (at least in anime industry) really hate women, it doesn't matter how strong they "say" a female character is at some point she will be for some dumb reason a damsel in distress or something like. Anyway, the anime itself has a great visual which is common for chinese anime in general and the story is basically the same as all they usually do, OP MC that nobody knows about kicks everyones ass. There is 0 character development for everyone, 0 progression on the main plot itself (if there is one). The comedy is mostly bad, probably chinese culturerelated and other cultures can't relate thus can't really find it funny, but sometimes it do hit the spot. People popup from nowhere sometimes, try to keep up. Like I said on the beginning, at least on my POV the Main Female Character get introduced as a powerfull hero but immediately starts to be abused by antagonists males and need to be saved. If you ever watched a chinese anime you probably knows this story... it's like isekai anime, there are many and just a couple kinks differ from one another, good ones are far between. Overall it can be enjoyed, just don't expect lore, development or complexity from it... just come for the power fantasy. Disclaimer: not english native, hope it all makes sense

People talking too much saying its "simple" or "boring" and its missing "character development" what if these kinds of simple animes are the best ones. I love OP mc and i liked this its underrated go and watch it!! Im trying to make this simple review so people can just go and watch it without me telling them everything but site doesnt allow that i guess so i will say it again go and watch this awesome anime!!!! +fighting is soooo good! I personally didnt enjoy Naruto or One piece fights so much because they talk to much and fire powers at each other butthis mix of hand to hand combat, weapons and powers is the thing me and other anime fans need. I love it so much and i would like to have more animes like this one and im saying it again its UNDERRATED just like scissors seven both are similiar but i guess people have diffrent tastes.

Honestly, 12 episodes for this series is too low. In both the manhua and the novel, this is basically just the introduction, setting up a lot of the characters and how they interact. If you're here for an actual complete story, I recommend you read the entire thing instead of watching this. There's just too little runtime in this adaptation to really get things going. As for the animation, I can't praise it enough. Especially during the fighting scenes, this show really delivers and keeps you glued to the screen. The music and sound design really adds well to this. The characters themselves are fairly stereotypical, buttheir powers and personalities are very broad and make for great chemistry, and opens up a lot of room for good jokes, though these are very limited to the anime adaptation. I think this show is best enjoyed after reading the source material, because it's just not enough to be enjoyable on its own in the earlier parts of the story. If multiple story arcs are getting adaptations it may be interesting enough to watch standalone, but for now I wouldn't recommend it.
