B-Project: Passion*Love Call
B-PROJECT ~熱烈*ラブコール~
The idol unit "B-PROJECT" has successfully completed their second JAPAN Dome live concert, and changes are afoot at the major record company "Gandara Music." Tsubasa Sumisora, who works as an A&R, will now oversee not only "KitaKore," "THRIVE," "MooNs," and "KiLLER KiNG" but also a new artist from a different genre named "Ultras." The synergy created from the meeting of B-PROJECT and Ultras is now resonating with a thrilling and passionate "love call"! (Source: Crunchyroll)

BOYYYYY This season has the weakest ending BY FAR. We start the season with the introduction of Ultraz, an up-and-coming YouTuber duo. They are assigned under, you guessed it, Tsubasa as their A&R. I hope she gets paid double, if she hasn't already. It should be interesting, seeing independent YouTubers who do everything themselves, from content planning to execution, clashing with idols who have to follow rigid structure. I thought there would be a nice rivalry between Ultraz and the B-Pro members. And yet they only interacted probably 3 times in the entire season, with the conflict being centered around them and THRIVE. Ultraz brought potential fora lot of interesting conflict, but just like everything else about this anime, I was let down. The plot is episodic as always, with most episodes in the first half focusing on the conflict of each group instead of certain members. Unlike season 1 and 2 with a somewhat overarching plot, it seems like the writers had nothing planned this season. They just introduced new characters and watched things play out, and wrapped them up when they felt enough. I was already left unsatisfied with the terrible resolution to Yashamaru's character, only for him to come back for a grand total of 1 scene and a cameo here, contributing to absolutely nothing. Last season, he was the only redeeming quality for me. This time I've got nothing. If anything I'm even more upset because I was given Yashamaru only for him to contribute to nothing. Last 2 seasons, I complained about how there isn't enough music in this music anime. Almost every song got cut off not even 1 minute in. This season it seems like they finally learned their lesson and changed the ending song almost every episode to match whatever song was playing in that episode. I like that. However, they learned their lesson A BIT TOO MUCH it seems. The lack of overarching plot means they have nothing planned for the finale. In true B-Pro fashion, the final episode is a live concert. Unlike the previous 2 seasons where the songs are always cut off, even in the finale, this time they played the songs all the way through. Including the choreography (with meh CGI, for a 2023 anime). Of course, there are still a lot of still shots mixed between the CGI to cut budget. They did this 6 times. 4 B-Pro units. Ultraz's debut song. And 1 big B-Pro performance. Episode 12 was all songs, to make up for the fact that there is no plot. Well, at least it's over now. I'm free. And I still can't memorize all the characters' names. If you're looking to get into B-Pro through the anime, don't bother. It didn't work for me.
