This is a weird series. It is interesting, fun, quite often all over the place, but it keeps you watching. Let me explain. Plot Ever since the first season I was caught by the show due to the protagonist being way too OP for this world. However, what I hate with most shows is that when a character really wants to hide their identity, you just can't do anything but feel the need for them to eventually reveal themselves. This show seems to be an exception - this is the single show that I didn't feel a need for the protagonist to reveal their identity. In theend, there is pretty much only one person who somewhat knows how powerful the MC is. Execution The world building is wonderful. I haven't seen a single show that employed so many different art styles. I saw episodes with 3D CGI, low-poly 3D, VN-style dialogue and point of view, as well as game style and LIVE-ACTION segments. The whole show is sort of surreal because it set in the future, but more often than not you feel like it's set in the past due to the way certain clothes are portrayed, certain dialogue is done. In the end, it just keeps showing you more and more. It even nails it with the comedy, some episodes have really funny quirks at the end or near the end of an episode. Despite how silly chinese anime comedy is, there are really wonderful moments that the anime manages to portray. There are episodes where you see actual people, where dimensions are breaking due to the artists being burned out from drawing, the director being missing and whatnot. It really feels as if the studio is breaking the 4th wall speaking to you. In one of the episodes you were able to pretty much indirectly understand the message being given off as "thank you for all the staff for making this show come to life". Animation The animation quality can't be ignored either. Every action scene is fluid, you can see the movements clearly, the fights are intense, sound effects are massive, visual effects are vivid. I've seen some god-tier animation and this show doesn't disappoint. As chinese animation, it has left me with huge expectations for other shows as well, and let me understand that chinese animation has come a long way. Downsides Of course, there are some downsides. One thing being is that the plot is confusing sometimes. One time you may be in a massive fight, another you might be preparing for someone's birthday. Even though in the end the dots actually connect and you didn't expect it to actually be significant, it can be confusing. Another issue is lack of character development. Although some characters can be seen developing, albeit to a small degree, for the most part, all of the characters remain the same without any changes in their behaviour whatsoever. It may be fine as the series doesn't seem to be taking leaps in time, but it would be great to see characters and their relations proceed to a higher level or proceed further. Long story short, it's a good watch, it gets your attention and you want to know what's next. It doesn't take too long to finish the series due to the shorter episode length and it leaves you with high expectations for the next time you watch chinese animation. In my opinion, it was worth my time, so it may be worth a try for you as well.
