Having finished this season I have to say, this anime was a blast. Maybe this will sound a bit contradictory but, this anime is not the best I have seen, but it's definitely one of the funnest. Especially the second part of this season I enjoyed immensely. Interesting characters, compelling story, excellent animation, fitting sound effects are all there. This all combined with Baki's unique style of over-explaining everything make this show an unforgettable experience for any action/martial art anime enjoyer. Of course, dynamic fighting sequences, innovating (fabricated) fighting moves and styles, funny expressions, super-detailed masculine figures and crooked jaw lines are all include in thepackage, as per Baki. Thought it felt like the ending was a bit rushed, it was still more than satisfying preserving the hype till the last second. Every character was there, every moment they shared with each other felt like it counted. Definitely a must-watch!

BIG MEN DOING MAN SHIT has reached it's peak. It's zenith. It's culmination. Such kino, such artisanship, such masterclass. The pinnacle of what it means to be a man. The best our species is capable of. Masturbation became obsolete because of this. Microsoft Edge was allowed to Macrohard Cum thanks to this. Pack it up boys, this is the best it's ever going to get. It's only downhill from here. Now, if you're this many seasons into Baki, you should already know what to expect (if this is the first season you watch, the fuck is wrong with you??). This season delivers on everything we love.Big men. Bigger men. The biggest men. Muscles on top of muscles. Outrageous fights. Mindnumbing techniques. Ridiculous stakes. The important thing I'd like to say is that this season is easily the best so far. The fights, the techniques, the story, the tension, all of it is at its finest here. This is literally the big moment that all of Baki up till this point has been building towards. And boy is it worth it! Covering the two most iconic and legendary arcs in all of Baki - the Pickle Wars saga and the final fight between Baki and Yujiro - as well as the true main plot of this anime, boxing Retsu, this is truly the best stretch so far and every single moment delivers. There may have been some iffy moments in the past, I cannot think of any here. Not just the story, the quality of the anime itself is the best it's ever been too. The animation is even smoother, there's no CG anywhere and the pacing is handled marvelously, with every episode being dense with excitement. Overall, if you haven't grown a second penis by this point you're a lost cause. But I think watching this season and not having that happen is impossible. This is just so peak, it's irresistible. The perfect conclusion to the manliest saga ever made. And you know what's great? It's not actually over! There is more Baki after this, so the adventure isn't over! For there is always another rep to be made and more heavy things to lift, bigger punches to throw. Do yourself a goddamn favour and start Baki NOW! Not with this season, from the start. Every season will be worth your time and you can rest assured that the best is saved for dessert. Bone apple tea, motherfuckers!

Baki has always been a bit of a mixed bag for me. I think it peaked in terms of interesting dynamics and having multiple incredible fights back during the Great Raitai Tournament Saga two seasons ago, and even then, this is mostly just a fight fest. Absurd body proportions, detail on crazy move sets, and any excuse to fight are the name of the game, and I honestly don’t think this series even does that best (I prefer the Kengan series). From here on, I'll break this review into two halves, one coming from the first half of the season and the other coming from thelatter half. I will say that they really put the dynamics of a fight under a magnifying glass this season, which is awesome... but they're all against a single opponent, one whose entire history of fighting starts and ends with "he lived with, fought and ate dinosaurs." When you have a set of characters who use a wide variety of interesting tactics and have demonstrated them over previous seasons, having everyone test themselves against a physical monster who is just absurdly powerful and fast just feels like a let down. Doesn’t help that the whole premise of “caveman awakes in our time” is basically just Encino Man, but instead of goofy antics, dude just wants to fight (admittedly with some interesting nuances) and eat. Really doesn’t help that some earlier scenes in this show other things he wants that just… aren’t good. The general response of the military and scientific community are all baffling. It's good to see the development of a couple of characters through this and to see some real maimings that result from fighting this particular opponent, but it still feels empty of actual risk to their lives, despite the series repeated attempts to make us think that more could happen. But that’s a problem I have with Baki as a whole. Ends up around a 6.3/10 for me. Onto the second half of the season. I would say that it’s a substantial improvement. Despite the fact this portion involved fewer fights, focusing instead on the relationship between Baki and Yujirou, it does such a deep dive into the dynamics between them that I was actually pretty invested in the characters. Each of the moves themselves are drawn out to the nth degree, which makes sense when you’re talking about the kind of fight that has been built up to for the whole series. That being said, this still is just one fight with a lot of people standing around making clear how important it is. For all that these two characters come into it with the mentality that it’s a father-son match built on years of turmoil, tragedy and torture, it becomes an absolute event. It becomes kind of absurd how the whole thing is carved into the wall of some ancient temple to boot and how people are traveling countless miles to literally pray to Yujirou. I get that absurdity is kind of this series’ strength, but even so, this was a little much for me. I think this fight is at its best when it is about their relationship and showcasing it through the moves that Baki, in particular, learned to utilize over all this time, but for every moment that demonstrates the strength of the story, there’s just so much absurdity that it’s hard to take it as seriously as it deserves. It raises the strength of the season for me. It just barely makes a 7/10 for me, even if some of the moments are 8/10.

As a Baki fan that was dream come true moment, i still remember the first time i watch de 2001 anime and hope for YEARS that Baki got a new one and since 2018 we are finally getting it. The new season adapts the "Son of Ogre", so we have Prison Arc, Pickle and the Father vs Son match, i will review each one in a minute, but first let me say what improved overall: Animation: The weird CGI is completely gone(Thankfully) and since the Raitai tournament the animation only improved, so it is a major point. Soundtracking and Voice acting: I watched both the Japanese andPortuguese dubs, both of them 10/10, the voices match up so well. This season is a MUST watch if you enjoyed the others, you need to see this. Now that arc review: Prison Arc: This one is the weakest for me, i like the Guevaro character and i love Oliva BUT they are kinda weird here, Oliva does not feel like the Oliva from before and neither from the after Prison arc, it is like Oliva was another person in this arc, and it is the same as the manga, still, great fights and worth it. Pickle: That arc is the cream of the crop, especially the Katsumi and Jack fights, i won't spoil anything, but DAMN those fights got me emotional in the manga and so did in the anime. I remember back when i was 12, Katsumi was the reason i started Karate. Father vs Son: What every Baki fan has been waiting for, the only sad part was not showing some Doppo Flashbacks during the fight where he is explaining stuff, the Retsu boxing arc tho was fixed here, way better in the anime than in the manga.

Baki is always such a wild ride. Despite the plot and the animation being objectively terrible, I still had a great time and watched it through to the end. Even when most of the animation is sliding still images across the screen with voice-over, it manages to cultivate hype second to none. This season does not quite beat the previous two seasons, my favourite is still the Raitai saga, followed by the prison season. However, this season is still a great instalment. My rating it a 7 is not based on my enjoyment, but as a critic, I can't give it any higher based on enjoyment alone.
